If you watch college football.....what teams (s) do you root for?

I don't watch football, but I root for WSU......DD is an avid fan and I hear when they are on and all about the games.

Washington State Cougars............

And I think they have the best logo ever!!

I don't have any particular ties to a team (my alma mater was a Division III school), but growing up in Western PA, you generally either rooted for Pittsburgh, Penn St. or Notre Dame (as a Catholic). I ended up rooting for Penn St. Now that I live in Ohio, I usually root for Ohio St (except when they play Penn St). I'm far from a die hard fan of any of the teams, however.

Texas A&M, as a Former Student...can't wait for the UCLA quarterback to find out just how loud Kyle Field really is this weekend.

It isn't any louder than Autzen. That UCLA QB is right. You can't hear at about 50k screaming. So louder than that simply means you still can't hear and the fans damage their own ears in the process.

I'll often root for the University of Illinois, Fighting Illini. They have not been all that good for the last couple decades. So I've drifted some to watching other BigTen teams.

Yeah, I'm picking Stanford too...:rolleyes1

We've been blessed with a great coach. Thanks for the kind words!

Starts in less than 30 minutes on FS1.

If KSU can find a way to limit McCaffrey, they have a shot. .. but that's easier said than done.

California Golden Bears, although I haven't been to a game in a while. Had my season ticket for over a decade. They took part in the greatest play in the history of football

I guess the one thing that sometimes needs to be explained is where the heck Cal is. That comes up sometimes when Cal teams go on the road or at bowl games. This collection of campus trademarks should explain it.

They played the first game of the season against Hawaii, played in Sydney, Australia last week.

Not to be confused with Cal U, or California University of Pennsylvania.

That probably was me--I started in 1979 and graduated in 1983--but it's not 100% accurate as there was no class that never saw a win until their senior year. NU won the first game we saw as freshman in 1979--beating the almighty Wyoming Cowboys during what was then New Student Week--then lost 34 straight, meaning we didn't see a win until the Northern Illinois game in 1982. And there weren't a lot of close games in between, as I sat through (well at least until halftime) losses as bad as 65-0, 70-6 and 63-0 during that time. At least one of those was homecoming.

Class of '82 here, I remember all of those lopsided losses and when we set the record for most consecutive losses and the students carried the goal posts and tossed them into Lake Michigan.

Ds is currently an Iowa Hawkeye so in this house we bleed Black & Gold UNLESS the Hawkeyes are playing my 'Cats then it is all Purple & White. I am so grateful that my DD doesn't want to go to a Big 10 school. The University of Rhode Island does have a football team, I think, but I've never seen one of their games on TV. DH went to Valpo and I always tease him about it -- "how's that Valpo football team doing?" Of course, when it's basketball season, the tables are turned....

And it will forever and always be Dyche stadium -- I don't care how many times they try and tell me that it is Ryan Field!

Ohio State is my #1, Pitt is my #2.

My college didn't have a football team (smaller school where basketball was the big sport) so I adopted my cousin's school as my #1. She was in the OSU Marching Band (proud cousin moment). I had others in the family who went to Pitt.

Rooting for both of these schools gives me two reasons to root against Penn State. :)

Cats and birds are a dime a dozen. How many schools have a horned lizard as their mascot?

Fun Fact: The horned lizard can squirt blood out of its eyeballs as a defense mechanism.
