Not a problem, LOL. Granny is right that use year offers NO protection for those that will bounce around through ALL times of the year, however, I think that's a somewhat unusual situation. More usual is the person who travels at several different set times of the year and/or their habits change over the years.
In the situation of the OP where one travels consistently enough in one timeframe, I feel like use year (best compared to worst) has $$$ value equivalent up to around the value of one years points minimum, maybe even more for one one is at significant risk of last minute changes repeatedly. For one who travels consistently different times of the year but those times are separately by 5-6 months, I think use year is important as well and at times, even MORE important. For one who has 3 usual travel times and there is a gap of around 8 months AND for those that are truly all over the calendar, use year is not particularly important. One's personal situation also has a lot to do with this issue but that is far more likely to change over the years than even the timing of trips is.
I'd guess that ON AVERAGE, roughly every single LONG TERM member will end up losing a vacation over the years to something not truly expected. That may mean losing points or having to rent cheap or give away to friends or family. Those of us who actively consider and plan around this idea, will be far less likely to be the one's who lose out but it could attack even the most fervent planner.
