After last years experience, I know pastas and pizzas are the best option for my kids. So where should we go for a good pasta - pizza meal?

I'd go to Colonel Hathi's Pizza Outpost first, then Pizzeria Bella Notte. Colonel Hathi's is usually quiet because its more tucked out of the way in Adventureland than Bella Notte, its the same kind of food, and Colonel Hathi's is superbly themed (it has a big tree right in the middle of the restaurant :goodvibes).

If the March Hare food hut is open beside the teacups ride, they do a bolognese pasta pot there (quick and filling) for around 7 euros. Quite a few of the counter service places also do the small Mickey-head shaped pizzas for kids, the Blockbuster Cafe in the studios certainly has it.

we did have past in Bella Notte, but kids didn't like it. And if to look at table service or buffet meal?

what didn't they like about the pasta they had? Its the same or similar that they'll get in any of the counter service places. At most buffet meals they have plain pasta shapes and a couple of sauces to pour over, if that would suit better (ie Cheyenne, Santa Fe, Parkside Diner, Plaza Gardens, Restaurant des Stars, Agrabah Cafe, have all had these when we've eaten there).

The pizzas are the same at all counter service restaurants, so it's just a case of picking a theme that suits your kids.

Out of the counter service ones I prefer Restaurant En Coulisse. The theme isn't great but they sell fries (the other Pizza places don't!)

Most of the buffets sell Pizza and Pasta (Agrabah doesn't have Pizza). It's pretty much the same in all of them. There is a special Pizza and Pasta Buffet in Discoveryland (Pizza Planet). But it rarely seems to be open anymore!

Most of the restaurants sell Pasta. The following sell Pizzas: Cafe Mickey, Rainforest Cafe, Planet Hollywood & King Ludwigs Castle.

Cafe Mickey has the best choice of Pizzas and they let you choose your toppings.

There do great pasta dishes in Rainforest but they are large portions ....didn't see the kids menu as we didn't have any kids ... sorry. Have had pizza in the past at Cafe Mickey which were very good.

maybe it was bad made or something, but they even didn't finish half of it. I guess it was the taste.
Pizza planet is the one kids want to go to, but both times it was closed... :confused3

thanks, I'll keep that in mind. On our first trip I planned our meals way better than on last years trip, so this time I will make a plan.

The Steakhouse in the Vllage had macaroni & cheese on it's childrens menus.

The hotel buffet restaurants also often have pasta in the childrens options. :goodvibes

DS1 loved Mickey shaped in Parkside dinner

Actually I think they've changed it, DS has always had pizza with 2 toppings at CM, but when I checked the menu recently, the pizzas are listed now Margarita, pepperoni etc. :(

Perhaps someone else can confirm this?

Kids option pizza sounds nice, checked in dlrpmagic. And as we are doing character meal, I'll choose this for them.

is that the pizza option on the kids menu in Cafe Mickey? Thats the same kids pizza you get in the counter service restaurants (and I think Cafe Mickey has a right cheek charging 18 euros - or whatever it is now - for the same kids meal which is 6 euros in Pizzaria Bella Notte).

Do you not fancy sharing a big pizza or 2 between the 3 of you in Cafe Mickey instead?

It's the same pizza in CM for children as in the park ? :scared:

I've just been looking at a photo from CM and it looks horrible - cheap nasty ham...

This is what we did when I took mini-me in June. We ordered a big pizza and a garlic bread between us, tbh we didn't actually need the garlic bread as the pizza was more than enough between the two of us.

I think the Kid's menu prices in CM are crazy, especially seeing as though you can get the exact same meal in a counter service restaurant for a 1/3 of the price...!

It's the same pizza?? I expected more from CM :scared1:
we had pizza in New York sandwiches and kids shared one and still didn't finish it (it really wasn't good). And it's the same pizza in CM?

the adult pizzas in Cafe Mickey are freshly made, they are not like anything else we've tried in the parks/Village (we really enjoy our adult Cafe Mickey pizza). The kids pizzas, I'm fairly sure, are similar to the kids pizzas you get in the counter service meals in the parks.

it's a shame my kids would take everything off and leave just cheese and ham. So no point getting anything extra. I still added MC to our meal plan list. Characters are a mus no matter what.

I hope Buzz lightyearis pizza planet will be open :lmao:

If ordering an 'adult' pizza from CM...is this something that can be shared among the table, or is each person expected to order their own meal? Any idea of approx. Size?

I ask because we're considering going to CM during our visit, and it will be for our Thanksgiving dinner (with a 10 year old, he'd far prefer characters to the fanciness of Walt's ;) ) and most of the set meals I've seen on their menu don't really appeal to us.

We've never been to a character dining in that states that wasn't buffet, so I don't want to go in looking silly, ya know?

the adult Cafe Mickey pizza is about 12inch size (ie it completely covers a large dinner plate). My DD and I share this, and either a starter (the garlic bread is the same size!) or get a dessert each. Its completely fine to do this, you just ask for an extra plate for the pizza to share.
