Better to move them or have your account permanently disabled.

I am curious, I don't use the site but are they claiming intilectual property and or trademark or was it outside the perameters of what they intended the site to be used for?

Thanks for the heads up. I have deleted my VMK album. I can see why they have a problem with it, because VMK is copyrighted.

Your account has been deactivated due to video game clips in the following album:
<removed album link>

Images that contain still or video captures from TV or other commercial film or video sources and scanned commercial materials from books or magazines are deemed unacceptable.

Unacceptable content is not permitted anywhere on the site, no matter what the album rating is. The Trash Bin is also covered by the terms of the agreement even if images have not been assigned to albums.

this is what they said since VMK is almost all I had stored there except these two photos below I am still at a loss to what they are saying is against their guidelines but better safe than sorry. Do not use them to store screen shots of VMK. The only thing I can gather is they are considering Screen shots of VMK other video sources??? :confused3

From the VMK Terms of Agreement (WDIG is Walt Disney Internet Group):

No material from any WDIG Site or any Internet site owned, operated, licensed, or controlled by us may be copied, reproduced, republished, uploaded, posted, transmitted, or distributed in any way, except that you may download one copy of the materials on any single computer for your personal, noncommercial home use only, provided that (i) you keep intact all copyright and other proprietary notices, (ii) you make no modifications to the materials, (iii) you do not use the materials in a manner that suggests an association with any of our products, services, or brands, and (iv) you do not download quantities of materials to a database that can be used to avoid future downloads from any WDIG Site. The use of any WDIG material on any other Web site or computer environment is prohibited.

So, "officially" all our posted screen shots, pics of our avatars, etc. are against the VMK terms of agreement. "Unofficially", I think WDIG doesn't really care, because we're basically providing free advertising, and it's not like any of us are profiting from the screen shots and whatnot.

However, an image serving website (either commercial or not), might prefer to not risk the wrath of Disney lawyers, and may have chosen to simply enforce the "official rules".

You know I bet all the building at the Disney park are copyrighted too, and I bet they let you put your summer Disney vacation photos on their site.

Is there a reason nobody uses Flickr? Something I dont know?

I use it for all my screenshots, quick, easy, virtually limitless, and free.
It's pretty slick as hosting pics go.

thanks for the heads up...I had never heard of it before could you provide a link for the lazy ones, like me ;).

although my acct at Sony was reinstated(by the way it is free also) I probably will never use it again since VMK is all that I stored there. So I need a new image host site.

Flickr was recently bought by Yahoo and is their photo album service. It is by far the cream of the crop when it comes to Free web photo album services. I was sad when Yahoo took them over, but so far they haven't changed anything. Click on the pic below and it will take you to my VMK album. Or click here for thier slide show thingy.

Once you create an account and upload pictures it provides you static links to 5 different sizes of each image, from thumbnail all the way to original size. It is really slick, I just drag my photos to an Icon on my desktop and it automatically uploads them to my account. I have never reached the monthly upload limit, not even sure what it is.

I really hope they dont change it.

just uploaded my first pic to Flickr ;)

love the different size feature!

thanks again for the heads up!

Congrats and that is a good WON to put up there!

Be warned though, surfing around Flickr can become VERY addictive.
