If you use one of those over-door shoe organizers in your hotel room...

...can you please tell me more about how you use it/organize with it? Or if anyone's bothered to take pictures....

I love the idea but it's a little overwhelming to me to decide what I'd like to put in the pockets? Is it just everyone's bathroom things? Cell phone chargers? Snacks? LOL :confused3

I don't have a picture, but we hung ours right by the bathroom sink and used it for: my cosmetics, deodorant, sunscreen, lotion, toothbrushes/toothpaste, hairbrushes, mouse, hairspray, etc.

I don't use the over the door hangers but the canvas sweater hangers/shelves. There is a velcro attachment at the top and I attach it on the closet rod.

Since the sheves are larger I put shoes, my makeup bag, curling iron, sleep clothes, lotion, husbands shaving kit, etc.

I dont like to keep clutter on the sink area.

We use it for toiletries in the top spots and the bottom ones are used for the kids shoes and toys. It helped keep the sink area clean. If you are staying at the Contemporary there is no place to hang it :(

We have 3 (but there are 6 of us)

Toiletries in one (toothpaste, shampoo, lotion, sunscreen, chapstick, cosmetics) I hang it in the bathroom.

Medicines in one (Tylenol, aloe, cold meds, qtips, hair gel, ponytail holders, sewing kit, combs, brushes in this one) I hang this one in the closet.

The third one is our miscellaneous one or things to replace in our park bag. Room keys, lanyards, sunglasses, hand sanitizer, wipes) Sometimes this one in the closet, sometimes on the outside of the bathroom door.

Best thing I ever did was use one of these last year at POP. We used it same as others, lotion, toothpaste etc.. kept counter clean! We hung ours in the closet. Other life savers were a pop up hamper for all the shoes and outlet strip for mutlple cell phone chargers. Our room was never more organized and clean:)

Mostly toiletry type items.. medicine, bandaids, sunscreen, aloe, hand cream, travel shampoos, deoderant, face wash, razors etc. I hate a cluttered counter.
There is a pocket for sunglasses too.

I also have a make up bag that unfolds and hangs on the towel bar.

When we walk back in the room from anywhere we stick our KTTW cards straight in one of the pockets because someone is always misplacing one of them and I hate digging around for them when we're heading to rope drop :headache:
It really helps with that.

ETA) We also use the pop up hamper .. but ours is for laundry. When it's full (it's a double sided one) I head to the laundry for 2 hours and wash everything. Doesn't take too long and then we don't need to pack as much.

These are great for everything! That way everyone has a place for all those little things. You can find them at the dollar tree. :)

I bought a hanging toiletry bag that unzippers and has a hook and you can hang it wherever. I hang mine on the towel bar or the rack with the hangers next to the sink. You don't even have to unpack your toiletries and there's several pockets so you can organize it. I got mine online but just recently saw them at Ikea for $7!

We use one. Sometimes they don't fit on the doors so we hang it on the rod in the closet.

Ours has all bathroom stuff except toothbrushes which I put in 2 glasses after I clean them. I even put my special shampoo in it to keep the rest of the family from using it.

Plus we put all medicines in them - suntan lotions, body glide included.

We usually fill it up easily.

If you really dont know what you should put in it, I would say you probably dont need it. ;) It sounds like overkill in that case.

Last summer was our first trip with a closet "shoe" organizer...how did we ever function without it!! We hung it in our closet at Pop right next to the sink. We kept DW's make up bag, my shaving kit, Kids toiletry kits, sunblock and other various items in the hanger compartments. Having the organizer kept the sink and counter free of clutter which is a real plus in the values. We bought ours at Bed, Bath and Beyond for $8 or $9. It collapsed neatly in the suitcase for our return home. One of the greatest tips I've actually used from DIS.

Are there any hooks on the bathroom doors to hang this on, or do I bring my own? One of many wonderful tips from DISBoards!!!

Depends on what you get. From the ones I've seen at the dollar store, you'd need a hook to hang it over the door. It's just got a rope on it that would need to hang on something. If you get a more expensive one like at Bed Bath & Beyond it probably comes with one.

Hi, This is the organizer we used in our BLT studio and have used at the other resorts as well (and also on more than one Disney cruise). It came with metal hooks that attach to the organizer and go over the closet rod. Actually, I never tried this on a door, just in the closet at resorts.

Anyhow, we have used these organizers for almost ten years now on our Disney vacations and love them. We don't use them for snacks, just non-food items. We use them for toothbrush, toothpaste, make-up, brush, comb, toiletries like deodorant, moisturizer, sunglasses, sunscreen, chargers for phone and camera, mini laundry detergent, vitamins, first aid items like mole skin!!! and band-aids, aspirin, etc. Hope this helps. tink
