If you think people can get in a tiff here then don't try posting on FODOR'S.com

I'm planning a trip to Italy and have spent a lot of time lately at Frommers.com, and I have found those folks to be extremely helpful and kind.

Except I find that the board is poorly organized.

Hilarious Dawn! I used to frequent the Hawaii boards too (maybe I've seen you there! :yay: ) and you are dead on!

Could be! How about the question; Should I chose Wailea or Ka'anapali? Thats always popular. ;)

I like the even more general ones - going to Hawaii....where should I stay?

I know that's asked here on the DIS, but when you are talking Hawaii, it's sooo different.

I just now took a break and dropped in on Fodors; Someone asked about the Whaler. I saw a sign outside of the Whaler that advised guests to 'clean the grills after use". That was a real turn off to me. They clean them at the Ka'anapali Alii. Who the heck wants to clean a grill on vacation!!??? Not me! ;)
so I posted.

I enjoy the virtualtourist.com site. They have forums, but I've never used them. Great site, though, with TONS of first hand information. They let you do trip journals there, which is fun.

I don't know how they behave on travel forums, but we found the French to be nothing but lovely and pleasant during our Paris trip. Can't wait to go back!

PhotoBearSam - Paris is actually a fairly inexpensive city to tour. 2 euro bottles of fabulous red wine, 1 euro loaf of fresh baked bread from the boulangerie, a few euros for cheese and butter from the grocery, and you've got yourself a heavenly all-day picnic lying in the grass, gazing at the Eiffel Tower. At least, that was the best day of our trip. And, Paris is really pedestrian friendly - such a pleasure walking anywhere. Other than the famous #69 bus, we didn't use transportation during our entire stay (except for arrival and departure, of course)

I'm sure the info I've given here isn't anything you didn't already know. But, it is kind of hard to guess someone else's spending needs. I just know for us, it was an extreme budget trip, and we had a fantastic time.

Post a trip journal on virtualtourist.com (or here) for us when you get back!

Bon Voyage!

I've been poking around Fodors.com also for a Paris trip and gotten lots of info there (although I haven't posted myself, just gleaned from others). One regular point of conflict over there among the regular posters is if you ask how to dress like a Parisian. There's one group that says dress nicer/in black, etc., and another that says basically "c'mon, Parisians wear jeans and sneakers, too, and they're going to know you're tourists anyway..."
