In reference to that 250 number being thrown around from the recent cruise, the poster did eventually clarify. Sounds like it factors in those who canceled/rescheduled in the days leading up to the cruise as well (which could be from a covid positive, or other reasons). This is a little more comforting than the thought that 1/4 of the total people were sent packing from the port.

I just find this crazy! So people can actually get on a plane having COVID? I'm going to see if I can find some of the threads where people discussed what they did.




And what about those who flew to the port?

There is most likely some percentage of people testing positive on a PCR test that could have had Covid a month ago and wrote it off as "a cold" but still have a positive PCR later. So, while I imagine there are people flying who have Covid, not all of the positive testing at the port is an active infection. That's why DCL and some other destinations have a separate status for recently recovered infections.

There is no requirement for a negative covid test before taking a domestic flight. So yes, there very well could be people on an airplane who have covid. Now, most if not all airlines do make you attest (somewhere in the online check-in process) that you are not ill, do not have symptoms, have not been recently exposed, etc. But there is no way to verify any given passenger's response there. It's all honor system. If that's a challenge for your traveling party to accept the risk of exposure, you may want to consider alternative transportation to your embarkation location.
