If you rent DVC points from someone can you add on the Disney Dining Plan?

Or do you just have to pay cash for your meals? I realize you'd probably be money ahead still, but the dining plan is just super convenient for us.

1) the owner can (and must) set you up with the DDP. at this point, i believe you still pay at check-in but this may be changing...

2) there is no requirement to buy tickets to add on the DDP to a points stay.

3) there is no "free dining" ever on points stays.
