If you rent a wheelchair from Disney, will they hold onto your walker til day's end?

Sorry to bother anyone, but my mother is not ready to concede /admit to how much pain she is in, and insists on only bringing a walker to assist her. For some of the more challenging parks (AK/EPCOT,) could she go up to the rental area, rent a chair, and have them hold her walker until she returned the wheelchair?

I am just trying to think ahead of all the logistics....She absolutely cannot get to the parks with merely a cane, and I do not know what the answer is.

TIA!:flower3:

I only suggest this to save money but it be cheaper to rent from a off site place and have it with her the whole time. She could use it like a walker and have a seat when she needs it.

Yes. They will hold a walker if you are renting a wheelchair or ECV. Also, if you have a personal wheelchair and rent an ECV they will hold the chair for you.

I'd never feel comfortable leaving personal property like that unless I locked it up my own self in a locker. I can't imagine they'd want to be responsible for a walker or other mobility aid. she'd probably be advised that she needs to keep it with her, or that they will not guarantee it's safety.

I asked this question at Guest Services in MK in July. The only solution they had is to leave the ECV or walker at STROLLER RENTAL! We did not have any young children with us, so I questioned the answer. The CM further explained that this is the only section where they have room for our equipment.

I did not use this suggestion because I feared what could happen to my ECV. Nothing is guaranteed as to the presence or condition of the ECV if left there. I did not feel comfortable enough to leave it.

I assume they would have a lot of people who would appreciate this service - but they don't have a master plan for the issue.

Stroller Rental is where you can rent wheelchairs and ECVs.

As I said, if you have a walker and are renting a wheelchair or ECV they will tag and store the walker for you. If you have a personal wheelchair and are renting an ECV they will tag and store the wheelchair for you.

And if you have a personal ECV and it is running out of power they will take it in and plug it in to one of their chargers.

In any event the people that work at the Stroller Rental locations know that these are personal medical items and not Disney-owned rental items and will handle and store them properly.

I have had them store my rollator at EPCOT. I would not have any qualms about letting any of the parks store my personal walker, rollator, wheelchair, etc. To the original poster, once your mother makes the trek from the bus stop or parking lot to the entrance into the actual park, she may be much more willing to consider renting! I know that that walk from the bus stop to the front of EPCOT was very close to my limit on walking.

Thank you for sharing your experience!:thumbsup2
