If you put it in writing, you have to deliver… right? A Dec. 2011 PTR

I am excited to try Biergarten...booked it for our CP package!

Congrats on the tickets arriving for the party...gotta love Disney mail!

Guess what?

I've got a real piece of planning to share!

What our trip will boil down to is not having enough TS meal credits for all the places we are planning to eat! So, E has been following the menu change for San Angel (our opening meal) and someone FINALLY posted the new menu on the wdwinfo site!

Going over all of our meals, it will be the best use of my credits to pay OOP for Sci-Fi Dining and San Angel.

I opted to eat "linner" or "lupper" (whatever you want to call it) at Biergarten after E and mom board ME to go home. The stark price difference between the three restaurants brings me to the conclusion of holding on to a TS credit for my last day!

:thumbsup2 Awesome! We are going to have to pay OOP for a meal or two as well. So glad to see someone else dig this deep into their planning!

Awesome on the MVMCP tickets!!!!

Hi there! I was looking for some December PTRs to follow and found them over at Shocky's PTR. Subscribing and looking forward to catching up on your plans soon!

Jumping on for your PTR. Im still trying to lose the rest of my baby weigh fromji DD. If i dont lose the last 15-20 before our trip Ill have to start calling it fat since she'll be turning 3 right after.

Disney mail is the best! ::yes::

I love Biergarten. Growing up, my family made several trips to the parks, but we couldn't afford to eat at all the restaurants. We would only eat at one place, Biergarten. Otherwise, we would pack our lunches!

My DH isn't big into German cuisine, so it's been skipped our last couple trips. :( I can't do it again! :rotfl:

I fully contend that if you do not do your homework, you can easily mess yourself over. That goes for your resort, airfare, food... I'm not about to waste a TS credit on a meal that will be under $20 and then pay OOP for something that is going to cost a lot more! Plus, skipping the dessert on those two meals will be good for me!

Welcome aboard!

I've been a bit absent from my PTR while I finished my impromptu TR from May. I'm ready to focus back here!

A girl after my own heart!!! :cloud9:

DD turns 3 in September, and I've only lost DS's baby weight. My goal is to be back where I was when I got married, and that is 40 lbs. away. I will admit, I'm up a few more lbs than my ticker represents (~7.5 lbs) I just haven't changed it since I've not been home!

A little bit of backstory... with DS, I ended up on strict horizontal bedrest due to a blood clot during my pregnancy with him. I had to stay flat on my back for 5 months. He came a month early too, thanks to pre-eclampsia... I was pretty proud of myself that I only gained 50 lbs with him. He turned 5 last month.

After his birth, I lost 30 lbs, got pregnant with DD a year and a half later and gained 40 lbs... but with her, I lost 20 lbs in the first trimester thanks to having to take progesterone in the beginning. I had a miscarriage in between our two kids due to low hormones. Taking that horrible medicine for the first 12 weeks was rough! It has very specific rules and so basically I was only allowed to eat for 10 hours a day... one can only put down so many calories in that time...

In the end, I've got two healthy kids. It was a long road, but we got there!

A friend of a co-worker is a TA and her post on facebook was about being on the phone with cast members ALL day... According to my coworker she only post things like that when something really BIG is about to hit.

*crosses fingers* :yay::woohoo:

I say (best British accent) why is the banana dancing?
We do not want FD here. That could mean more people in the parks which would be AWFUL

p.s. don't hate me I know it will save people money, but I don't want the parks busy for my mom she hasn't been in ages and I want it to be the best for her

You failed to mention the most important thing... we're not crazy about the thought of FD because we can't use it.

Mom got a REALLY good pin for our room, so the addition of FD for us is a moot point.

I am afraid the numbers will jump (we've been getting GREAT crowd predictions from TP to the tune of crowd levels 1-2) so we're being greedy.

I'm fairly certain it's going to happen... my friend Norma got the extended offer via her Disney Visa.

When did she get the offer? My mom's been watching all her Visa stuff to see when/if it was going to hit.

I saw Norma on Sunday at a cookout and said she had received something. She didn't say when it came, just that she got it. The original offer was released before my impromptu trip, so it has to be something new.

I kinda understand where you are coming from. If we don't change our view or resort, fd would only save us $7 so really not worth it. However, I think it will bring more people and i would like to not fight crowds more than we already will have to...

And... on the DV offer. I too was going to ask when since I have a DV.. and there has been no offer yet.

Same situation here, as well. Good pin for room that beats FD offer.

HOWEVER, I hadn't even considered that FD would add more people! :rotfl: I'm out of it these days... it's got to be the 'looming b-day' waving at me...

I love our tp crowd predictions right now...

I could go and ask her when she got it... if I remember! :rotfl:

They gone 'done it... and if anyone else notices... the ONLY week in December it is offered for is MY WEEK! :faint:

E and I talked about it today and decided that we are going to wait a few weeks until Henry gets back from his Honeymoon (the head TP guy - he got married in Disneyland Paris last weekend) to see what changes are going to be made to the crowd calendar. I know it will go up some, but I really don't think it will jump much higher than a 5 and while that is a considerable leap from where the predictions are now, it's still managable. We will have to really dig in and make sure that we utilize the park hours and recommendatiosn to our advantage.

On the impromptu trip, we went against TP advice two and it really got to us (they were the most crowded, at the end of vacation, full of meltdown days - the heat and crowds DID NOT help any!).

Same situation here, as well. Good pin for room that beats FD offer.

Out of it for whatever reason... maybe if we put collective brains together, we'll strike gold! :lmao:

I am still hopeful that it won't bring the numbers up too much.

Only time will tell!

And on a side note, I called Disney Dining today and got my Biergarten ressie moved back to 2:45p. That way if I can get in and out, I'll be able to take another spin on Soarin' before I have to go home!

I just wanted to share with y'all a little bit about my other, other, other side of me. My photography. Here's a little snippet for those not following my late May/early June 2011 TR:

SO... I get the genius award for the day...

I sat down at the computer to start hammering out our Photopass pictures. Well guess what? The computer I put them on (and the one that has my photo software on) is currently on its way to Rosemont, IL with my DH... :headache:

... for the next five days! :faint:

So... you are just going to have to wait to see them... for a bit longer.

Then I got the great idea to share pictures from this past weekend  from the NASCAR Brickyard 400 in Speedway, IN. Then again, I realized all of the good ones (along with my photo editing software) are now 3 1/2 hours away from my person...

#GENIUS#

So, again, you will have to deal with literary descriptions, and I'll share my photos later.

I got to spend the weekend rubbing elbows with NASCAR's elite. My newspaper, while not covering the actual event, gets 2 media passes to the Brickyard 400. I got one of them.

The credentials weren't that great (the LOW end of the totem pole) BUT I got to park in the infield within spitting distance to the driver's living trailers and the infamous pagoda at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

I went down to Indy on Friday to the practice session/media day and got in on a "Meet the top 12" press conference. I got to take pictures of Dale Jr., Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon, Denny Hamlin, Clint Bowyer, Kyle Busch, Kurt Busch, Juan Pablo Montoya, Matt Kenseth, Ryan Newman, and Tony Stewart. I missed the first interview because I didn't get to IMS until 11:15a. The junket started at 11a. I saw a lot of TV personalities too.

I'm REALLY glad I went to the practice. All summer I've been photographing little league... and let me tell you... cars travelling 165-180 mph is quite different! I spent the first 35 minutes of "practice" just trying to get a car in the frame! :rotfl2: I kept laughing at myself.

I did technically have a garage pass, but since it was designated a 'cold' pass, I couldn't get in the garage while the drivers and crew were working on the cars. I could have gone in during the time of the press conference, but what fun is a picture of a car without its driver?

I gave up and went home, eagerly awaiting my return on Sunday (I skipped qualifying day). I was told that I needed to leave my house at 4a.m. to beat traffic, so begrudgingly, I did...

There is NO TRAFFIC for the Brickyard 400 at 5a.m. There is for the Indy 500... not the Brickyard... :sad2:

I got to my parking spot a little after 6a.m. and grabbed a couple drinks in the media center, then I went back to my car to try to get some sleep. It was too dang hot in there, even with the windows open, so I only got about an hour of sleep. Groggy-eyed, breakfast was out in the MC. I ate, watched the local NBC station do their morning broadcast and headed out into pit lane to see what I could find. Again, it was super hot at the track that day, so only a few cars had been pushed out into pit lane, but all the tool boxes and special "thingies" were out on display. I felt so bad for the guys who had to sit in the hot sun and lube nuts in preparation for the upcoming pit stops.

I parked in turn 1 after hearing from my counterpart that US Women's soccer star, Hope Solo, was parading around the media center doing interviews and a lot of the people up there were going nuts (she eventually rode in the pace car throughout the race). I took a stool to stand on and I'm glad I did. There is a break in the fence at 6 feet, and I'm not quite there. Having the stool helped a ton.

I didn't get any super exciting car shots, it was a quiet, safe race (only 1 big tie up near the end). With 30 laps left, I went back to the MC to dump my stool someplace safe, then I went toward the pits to see how far I could get in. I got in. I wasn't supposed to, but a nice old guy let me through. :teeth:

I tried to get into Victory lane to no avail, I got stuck behind some much taller fly boys, but I was able to get out onto the track for the brick-kissing. I grabbed a couple shots and then headed back into the A/C for a press conference for the 2nd and 3rd place finishers. Jeff Gordon and Regan Smith's conference was already going on, so I snuck in and grabbed a couple pictures.

The Menard family was still out celebrating (it really WAS a big deal that day) and so we were told we had a 1/2 hour before Paul would make it into the conference room. He took a little longer than expected, so the emcee grabbed his dad, the car owner, and crew chief and started without him!

It was a special weekend that I don't think I'll ever forget. It's one thing to get to go to these events, but I think it was extra special since I had never seen a race within the track walls - we always watched from home. The Menard family has been ever present at IMS for many, many years and it was neat to be a witness to the whole weekend!

Okay... there are some changes afoot on this PTR!

First off, I am resetting my weight loss ticker... to zero! I lost that amount already and maintained it (for the most part). I am starting the count at zero because I've been resting on those numbers for far too long!

Second, I'll get our schedule updated as it stands right now. I finally got around to printing it out for me to stare at!

Third, I need to finalize our decorations and figure out what I need to finish up before E leaves on her big Asia trip!

School starts tomorrow, which means DS starts kindergarten, and I go back to work! Our schedule will be more regular, and a major event will be done and over for me on Saturday so I'll have time to scrapbook again and get more things done!

Here’s our updated schedule. For the sake of argument, I will list out the park predictions as follows: left will be Touring Plans, the right will be easyWDW. There is a stark difference between the two, but I contend TP will up the numbers in a bit once the numbers from the new FD promo take off. Congrats to all who got FD!!

Since the race got cancelled this week, I'll finally share my pictures from the Brickyard 400.

He is just a pretty man.

Speaking of pretty men…

I’m openly not a fan of Montoya, but he’s just pretty too.

Here’s my boy!

I couldn’t believe how close the networks jam the microphones in the guy’s faces. I’d be claustrophobic.

Look! It’s Mr. the King! (really, it is!)

I put this one up, because doesn’t Paul Menard’s dad remind you of Ed Wynn (Uncle Albert)?
