 It's been about 10 days since I finished my last TR and I don't have another PTR to start. :sad1:

Okay. I'm officially over the TR mourning period and so ready to get back on the PTR/TR speed dating again.

Nice pictures of the winter sports!

I think I need to hang out here more and get motivated to lose some weight. :goodvibes

Something is bound to pop up, even if it would be a little local trip!

Nice pictures of the winter sports!
Thanks! It's been a lot of fun to have the opportunity to do that stuff. It was REALLY cool to be able to shoot on the floor of a MAJOR sporting complex. Now if only EVERY other gym had that lighting...

Stick around... I'm just getting back into my groove!

In that case,

OFFICIALLY...

Day 2 of working out went relatively well. I hit the treadmill again yesterday, but for a little shorter time than the day before. I went for 40 min at a variable rate of 3.0-3.7. I travelled just over 2 miles and burned about 212 calories. I took it easy as I had forgotten how hard treadmills actually are on your joints.

I have a twice-operated-on bum knee, and here lately, if I sit on my feet when I’m shooting, it has a tendency to swell up. Well, at the game on Saturday, I sat on my feet… that way if I needed to pop up really quick for a shot, I can. It’s much easier than sitting cross-legged. As soon as it pops back into place, the swelling will go down!

I’m planning to take tonight off. I have to take DD to swim lessons and then I’ve been asked by the paper to take photos at the city’s annual Disability Awareness charity basketball game. It’s going to be too much to try to fit in tonight. I’m supposed to go take pictures of my cousin’s newborn tomorrow as well, but that won’t take long. I should be able to sneak in a workout after that, even if it’s for a few minutes. I’m thinking if I do make it to the gym tomorrow, I’ll have a go at the elliptical or cross-trainer to try to maximize calories burnt over a shorter time. I’m a little worried about how that is going to make my stomach feel, but I want to at least try it! I’d rather spend 20 minutes on the elliptical versus an hour on the treadmill!

That’s about all I have to report for this morning… I’ve got to pull some of my images from the weekend for the school. They want some of my shots to put up on the school’s website!

OH! And I almost forgot... I found out last night that my friend's church is going to do a scrapbook ALL NIGHTER next week! :cool1: I'll be able to get more of my decorations list done while also working on the photos of my kids that I'm deeply neglecting. I have stuff from December that I haven't touched yet. :rolleyes1

Thats right! you better start working on your items... I mean we only have under nine months to get it all done

I have faith you will to all the work for me and I'll take credit. I have complete faith it will all work out for me in the end :thumbsup2

It's all about making you look good! I'm just a ragamuffin tagalong that you picked up on a roadside!!!

[it's coming out of your head mostly anyway... I just push the buttons!!!!]

HOORAY on your weight loss progress and your exercise!! :dance3:

I hope to hit 10 lbs on Sunday! I'm going to go back and catch up on your thread - been MIA with the house buying/selling activity.

Just quick note that I'm still around. I've been running around like mad so I've not had time for a proper update. That, and I'm on spring break. Balancing spring cleaning with two little tornadoes under foot is not conducive to sitting at a computer and writing.

I'm trying to get my house back after my surgery... NOTHING got done while I was down.

Did I mention that I'm trying to potty train DD this week too???

Someone please save me!

Ah, spring break. As much as we look forward to it, it goes by in a blur and seems like total chaos sometimes. :rotfl:

Good luck on the potty training. I remember those days fondly :) It has beena long time since mine went through it but I ran a daycare for 12 years so I potty trained many, many children :dance3:

PS, don't worry about spelling. Sudteis porve that as lnog as the frsit and lsat lteters are in the rgiht palce, the brian can fix the sepillng. :teeth:

I can't hate on those who have trouble spelling...

In fact, my J.O.B. is working as a student aide for a blind teenager. Over the last 4 years, they (I was working with a brother and sister, but the sister graduated last year...) have been trying to teach me to sight read and type Braille. Well, they are good teachers and I practice as much as I can.

Well one day, I was proofreading something for the boy - the kids have a word processor that allows them to type in Braille and they can print out regular type from the processor - one heckuva machine! Anyway, the boy misspelled Tennessee. Of course I razzed him about it... he's a word/grammar junkie who LOVES to point out when I make spelling errors in Braille (my most famous goof was spelling ribler instead of river, MANY times on a map). His sister and I were talking about how in the world he could have possibly misspelled it... then we got quiet. Nearly at the same time, we both exclaimed, "that wouldn't work in Braille!" :rotfl2:

The reason being, Braille uses "contractions" - a series of dot combinations for certain letters and words... Tennessee has 1 of those contractions... the "en". The boy spelled it T-E-N-E-S-S-E-E, missing the extra "n".

So many people in the lunch line thought she and I were crazy. She told me that she was proud of my Braille skills. :teeth:

That's great! You'll see a huge difference in how he tours since this is his second trip. He should be really excited, but at the same time, he'll be more at ease since he's been there before. Even if he doesn't remember much, he'll remember he's been before - it will seem familiar!

I've taken DS at 2.5 and 4, and DD at 6mo and 2 years, so if you need any ideas, feel free to ask away! I tend to make a pretty big deal out of our trip preparation - we make Mickey pancakes, Mickey brownies, make a paper chain calendar so the kids have a visual of time... then I take the pieces of the paper chain and put it in our scrapbook from the trip. It's a lot of fun!
