If you put it in writing, you have to deliver… right? A Dec. 2011 PTR

My eyes went right to the witch in the 2nd picture. Then you ask if I see a difference. :rotfl2:

:scared1:

BWAHAHA! OMIGOSH! I didn't even think about that when I chose the picture! I just went for one that showed all of me (and a smaller belly...)

Okay, not sure if you fully understand the magnitude of the situation here.

The situation is this:

I mean, HOW CUTE ARE THESE BAGS??? :confused3

It took every ounce of my being to not buy one of the sketch bags last year, but this year, if (or should I say WHEN) I meet my goal, one of these WILL be coming home with me.

I don’t think I’ll have the will power to say no this time, especially with one of my favorite enablers right by my side. It will take a lot of strength to pry open my wallet to get the money out to pay for the bag, but I figure if I’m working out, my tremendously strong biceps should be able to handle it.

On a side note, did I mention E and I are photographers? I also scrapbook on the side… in addition to me making a personal book from our trip (I’m thinking something a tad bit smaller than our September 2010 book that weighed in at a minimal *coughs* 110 pages *coughs*), I’m planning on making mom a 6x6 book of memories as my thank you to her. Thank goodness CVS makes mini-prints! :teeth:

A big item for debate is how I will be taking my photos for the trip. I don’t do point and shoot cameras very well – because well… I’m a control freak. There… I said it! I’ll admit it. I don’t like not being able to have 100% control over my camera… E thinks I’m crazy, and I probably am. As much energy as it is taking me to convince myself that I need a Disney Dooney, you’d have to double that energy to convince me to leave my dSLR at home… :rolleyes1 Let the debate begin! [E almost had me on the ropes… and I’m hedging again – surprise, surprise…]

On an even further side note (way out of left field)… we plan to decorate our room for mom. I shall call it Operation Christmas Smile. Now, we’ve had some debate about how the room decorations will fit with our room at BWI – there was even some chatter about switching resorts to better fit our needs – OH THE PLANNING STAGES! But we’ll see what happens. :teeth:

So far the plan is to Disney-fy a 22” tree that I have kept at my job for the last 3 years. I bought it from one of the clubs at school and since I won’t have a student next year, well, I don’t really need my tree. We plan to ship it ahead and I’ll decorate it with E’s ornaments that she’s going to send ahead. We’re also planning to string some lights around the room, most likely on the windows. I have suction cup hooks that I use at home for our windows in the living room. They make decorating so easy! I’m also either going to make a little table runner or bring mine from home – that’s TBD still. I plan to leave my tree behind when we leave – sans E’s ornaments though. She might be furious if I try to leave those! I figure I’ll try to work out some kind of a swap here on the DIS. At least I know it would be able to go to a nice new home. :santa:

...cu-u-u-ute! How is it possible that I missed these bay-bees when I visited WDW??!?!

I'm not 100% sure when they rolled them out.

They aren't even listed on the Disney Store site like the others. They are popping up on ebay and a couple of blogs that I've seen.

All I know is that I can't say no this time, so I've got work to do! (if I do better than I'd like, I may throw in [another] pair of ears - the 40th anniversary ones of course!)

So have to say I love the bags I just wish they weren't so hard, it would keep falling off my shoulder :confused3

So earlier I had typed a response asking for idea on how to decorate our room, but my window got closed up and good by text, so since then Jenn and I have hashed out a great plan so far that I thought I would share with all here. Hope the list makes sense..

ROOM DECORE:
- 3 Stockings in Drawers with our names
- Red Table cloth on nightstandw/ gold pipping (Jenn makes)
- Red runner on desk
- Tree on desk (Jenn ships down)
- Disney Ornaments
- Icicle Lights and suction cups for balcony door
- Lights on balcony railing
- Xmas gold ornament place card holders + 16 pics- 4 each person
- Pluto plush on couch
- Wreath on door + door hanger
- Xmas Towels for towel rack
- Paper Snowflakes on balcony doors
- Mickey silhouette heads on balcony doors
- Cricut cut characters for mirror+ snowflakes
- Cricut sayings for above beds
-Alice= There is no place like Disney for the holidays
-Jiminy Cricket= May for holiday dreams come true
- iPod xmas music playing (have music playing when mom enters room)

STILL NEED:
- Mickey and Minnie Plush to set on bed
- Maybe a few small plush for couch to sit with Pluto

So everyones thoughts? Any ideas of what else we could do? Did I mention I usually have big visions and go over the top on stuff like this? Anything for me mum :lovestruc.

Tell you what... I have so many specials things set-up for my mom she is going to be blubbering the entire trip :lovestruc. My position as favorite child is set for the next 25 years :rotfl:. Not that my other siblings would even have a chance of knocking me off my throne but still... can't hurt to make sure my political standing is still solid as a rock :thumbsup2.

:wave2: Made it over to your report! Caught up and you girls are too funny! Am really going to enjoy keeping up with you and your ideas over the next 9 months! :goodvibes

Love the ideas for decor. I've toyed with that thought but wondered if it would be 'too much.' Now, I'm thinking heck no and am going to keep my eyes open for ideas!!

So jealous of your girls trip! One of these days, DH will get himself cornered in and it's :dance3: !!!

Either way I will have pic and will to post them here at the end of the trip

Anyone notice a pattern here??? ;) :rotfl2: I'm SO GLAD I have a scrap day at my friend's church on the 19th to get cracking on all the paper stuff! The cut outs will be perfect! AND they are very portable!

:wave::welcome::wave:
Doing little things like window clings or paper cut outs (do you have any scrapbooking friends?? that's how I'm doing ours) are portable and add a nice bit of personalization and charm! Keep your eyes peeled at the local Walgreens. They have a tendency to have lots of seasonal Disney items - window clings, plush animals, etc.

As for going solo or on a girls trip... I had DH cornered. I hate baseball cards and the stupid "trade" shows, but he enjoys it. The one this summer will be his 3rd one in 4 years... I went to 1 with him last year, but the other 2 - he was gone for 5 days! He owed me! :rotfl2: For this one, I didn't even get an option to say no. He told me the dates and who was going. Of course I didn't mind because it's the one thing he really enjoys, but don't think I wasn't going to give him hell if he said no to Florida! I am very fortunate to have an amazing friend in E, even more so that her mom rocks! We've all travelled together before, so it will be a bit of a reunion... but mom has NO IDEA that she's going to be pampered and spoiled on this trip. :wizard:

DH is a little jealous of this trip though... he LOVES WDW - and this was after me fighting and pleading and begging to go for 3 years. We decided not to return as a family until 2015 :faint: so all of the Fantasyland construction would be complete and the kids would still fall into the "child" category. But he talks about just he and I going down... a lot! So who knows when/if we'll go. Just the other day, he decided where we were going to eat for our trip in 5 years ... and he calls ME a super-nerd for all my planning! :rotfl2: When we were talking about WDW, he also kinda lowered his voice and said, "How much does that hair place charge??? You know with Bug's age that we are going to HAVE to take her to the castle for a makeover..." He is such a sucker for our DD! I just hope the Pirates League will still be around... or maybe I could take DS (who will be 9) parasailing instead??? :scratchin

You most certainly will not! :snooty:

[We will do a full, completed trip report! :lmao:]

:teeth:

I like the idea of rewarding yourself with the Disney Dooney! Hmm. . .gives me an idea, lol.

I'm telling ya Amanda... after all the work you've done the last few years, and your massive crazy schedule... you REALLY DESERVE something super nice!

I mean, I guess you could look at BC as a reward, but girl, you deserve a Nobel Prize for working your butt off!!! I don't know how you do it!

You could always send DH to the ride along at the Speedway as a treat too, just to keep things even! ;)

Okay, I WILL get a report in today.

Time flat got away from me last week. I did a lot of work for an independent newspaper photographing boy's basketball (3 games in 2 nights for the state tourney). I got held up, my sincerest apologies.

Okay, so, we are planning to have me cut out some images with my die-cut machine, the Cricut right? Well, I have this fabulous friend (and the sole person responsible for my scrapbooking problem…) that I was speaking to the other day about our little project. I told her what we were planning – putting some Mickey silhouettes and snowflakes on the windows on the doors… she proceeds to tell me that she has some vinyl that I could have to cut them out. :faint: Of all the things I didn’t even consider! Using the vinyl will make it easier (and better looking) on the windows. And vinyl is expensive… and she doesn’t want it… :scratchin: Now, I wouldn’t use the vinyl anywhere but the windows, but boy would it make my life easier down the road!

I was hoping to be a lot further along in my quest for decorations… I have a lot of white-string Christmas lights from the wedding I never had. Now, before you say, “awwww, I’m sorry!” don’t worry. As I look back on how DH and I got hitched (went to the Courthouse instead), I don’t regret it at all. While I enjoy photographing weddings, I hate the idea of me being the bride in one. I would be miserable all day.

ANYWAY… all of these lights are tucked away in a box in my attic. I tried to go up there last week, but DH all but sat on me and refused to let me up in the attic. I might stretch and pull something and trigger another gallbladder attack. OH SURE… use the gallbladder as an excuse… So I have to wait. Probably another 3 weeks before he’ll let me up there. :sad2: Oh well. I know that I have some cool rope lights, and some battery powered ones (which were the reason for my attic quest), and I have some really cool window-specific icicle lights that I need to get my hands on!

Back to the real reason for this PTR… I do have a bit of a confession to make:

I’ve been naughty lately. I’ve not put forth, well, any effort in my weight loss adventure. I’ve had such wicked heartburn (again) the last several days, that it’s doing most of the work for me, and with my surgery a few days away, I know I’ll be on a 100% liquid diet for the first couple days, so I’m expecting a drop off anyway.

Does that make me lazy? :confused3

hey... wait a minute.... I'm doing.... stuff :headache:
like... shopping... or boxing up my stuff I already have. I'm helping too :headache:!!

Yes. Yes you are. ::yes::

There are some things you are better at than me. Conversely, there are somethings I'm better at than you... like programming a little computer-like machine to cut out images of Mickey and friends. :rolleyes1

Because that takes ALL SORTS of talent. :teeth:

Awesome on the vinyl! I think it's a great idea!

Also - heck no on being lazy! Surgery in a few days will definitely drop you back so maybe you can enjoy some 'naughty food' if the heartburn doesn't get ya before the surgery!! Because I think you can't enjoy that food so much after the gallbladder is gone? I don't know that for sure...

That's the rumor. :sad2:

I know that I will be undergoing an extreme diet change afterward. I really don't want to have to deal with any adverse "side effects" of me eating anything fun.

I'm doing better about eating fish, but the thing that is really going to set me back will be fried foods... and chocolate.

I'm a big fan of bacon, McDonald's and Wendy's fries, and pork tenderloins. I don't eat them very often, but I think they'll be the hardest to say goodbye to.

I've indulged a bit the last couple of days and I have equally paid for it. My poor belly has hurt a good bit the last 2 nights. :sad2: I'm going to be good tonight though. DH is taking me out to dinner to one of our favorite places. Being that it's Ash Wednesday, he can get his salmon (:crazy2:) and I can get my favorite grilled chicken dinner with a salad and sweet potato. If my belly hurts after sharing 1/2 of my meal with my kids (because my food always tastes better...) I may cry!

:sad2: Fries are the devil in disguise, that is why they taste so good, little bites of sinful goodness
