If you put it in writing, you have to deliver… right? A Dec. 2011 PTR

:headache: Ack... dont' you hate it when that happens??? Sounds like something I would do. :sad2:
I was hoping that they would still have them! They had them in stock for what seemed like forever! :rotfl2:

That's just how my luck has been of late. ::yes::

-------------------------

I AM applying for yet ANOTHER new job. My new digs just aren't working out. I love the kids, and I know I'm making a difference to a couple of them, but I'm not happy, and I can't see the point in staying around if it's dragging me down.

There is a position open that I interviewed for 5 years ago - secretary to the athletic director. I came in second... the girl who got it was already an employee in the school system so they took her over me. :sad2: I'm almost 100% positive she got a different secretary position, working for the same guy that hired her for that post... he got a promotion and it looks like he's taking her along too, opening up that spot for someone like me. :teeth:

I'm sifting through my resume and cover letter, hoping that they take me. It will break my heart leaving the kids, but I've been so stressed out and way busier than what I'm being appreciated for that I can't foresee me staying there for more than a year, even though it was the most convenient thing for us with transportation to and from school for DS.

I'm also sticking my neck out and emailing the AD. I did some work for him over the last 4 years and I don't really feel that a shameless plug is out of the question. He knows me and my work. Here's hoping big favors come in short emails!

Doing the double digit dance for you!!!:cheer2:

Thanks!

What a cute image!!!!

I still can't believe I've turned the double digit mark... doesn't seem possible!

I just finished printing out my resume and cover letter. I hope this works out. I need the change!

Did I mention that I would cry if I didn't get called for an interview??

Yeah... I've been sobbing for the last hour. :sad2:

My colleague (the guy I'd be working for) called me a bit ago to say that I didn't make the cut for the interviews - due to the overwhelming response they are giving preference to those who have been secretaries within the corporation before. BUT... If they don't find the right person there, then they'll definitely call me.

I feel like I'm treading water. With the paraprofessional "label" (almost as bad as being labelled a lobbyist...) I can't move anywhere. I'm just a grunt.

So depressing.

On the trip front, E left for Asia today.

It's going to be a very long 6 weeks!

We had hoped to sit down and double check our decorations, but we flat ran out of time! I know that I still need to make the silhouettes and snowflakes for the door, and I picked up a couple of super cute Disney ornaments for our tree.

I am sorry about the job. That sucks! Hopefullly something will come along for you that fits what you deserve...and you won't be "treading that water" any more.:goodvibes

Agree with Ann! It's going to happen and it's going to be what you deserve and need. :goodvibes But I'm sorry about the job and the disappointment you felt.

I am so sorry about the job Jenn, I will keep my fingers crossed they interview a bunch of old hags that started typing in the 50 and now have arthritis

Miss you bunches and sorry I can't be there for support. I feel like I just abandoned you. Hopefully reading my story and seeing my pictures helps brighten your days

LOVE YOU! ::another big hug::

I am cyberstalking you daily.

Haven't posted lately because I'm still trying to come up with a bunch of different names to comment under. :teeth:

I'm still licking my wounds, BUT I saw the AD at a football game this weekend and he was genuinely glad to see me and was wondering how I was doing (after the news). I've got nothing but respect for this guy. ::yes::

The one positive of treading water is the amount of walking I'm doing within the school. I'm here, there, and everywhere, so I try to think of it as a mini-workout.

I actually went up to the Y today to have a go at the treadmill. I kept good pace, walked for 30 minutes, and did a LIGHT weight set.

We'll see if I still like the idea in the morning! :rotfl2:

Well, I wasn't sore after the workout, but I've not been back to the gym since that day...

I got a stupid sinus infection and it is whooping my butt. I started out with a scratchy throat, then a runny nose, then my ears clogged... I'm a hot mess! I started antibiotics on Thursday but it's slow and steady until it works up into my system.

I'm starting to get really excited about our trip!

E is trapsing all over Asia right now, and I had the rare opportunity to chat with her via AIM last night to catch up on her travels. I can't wait to hear about it in person!

I haven't made any more decorations since April... but knowing we are closer in days, I need to get cracking! I called BWI to ask what size the window panes on the balcony/patio doors are so I don't make the snowflakes or Mickey silhouettes too big for the panels (since they have the lattice work on the doors). I'm half working up the courage to ask them for measurements on the side tables to make that table runner we talked about doing too. Housekeeping thought the phone call was an odd request, but they really came through for me! I wonder what other odd requests they get down there, being such a melting pot.

I've also been looking for Disney gift cards and not having much luck. Our Sam's Club usually has them, but is out. Heck, Kroger was even out the other day. They did get some in last week, but they are the pre-determined $25 cards. I really don't want to mess with those. I wish they got more of the "set your own amount" cards like they had earlier this year, but the Disney GCs were all the way down at the bottom of the display shelf and only in one spot. Most of the others have several hooks in different denominations.

I may have to force myself to drive down to the Disney store in Indianapolis to get the "set your own" cards. I really don't want to mess several $25 cards...

I've hit a snag in my spending money too! The paper has severely cut back my opportunities to shoot. I can have a max of 4 assignments per month! :faint: I'm used to getting that in a week or so! The assignments I've completed this month have to pay for new front tires on my Blazer - they're completely spent and being off all summer really dipped into our savings. So paper money it is! DH overspent on his trip at the card show and he didn't realize it at the time. He had fun, and we were able to cover it so I'm not upset about it. He needed that break so bad!

Speaking of DH and breaks... we originally decided that we were going to wait until the kids are 9 and 7 before we return to WDW (they are 5 and almost 3 now). It's quite the long haul. Well last week, he informed me that he just can't wait that long. Him. Not me. Him... not me - the one who was begging and begging to go back... :teeth: I'm sure there will have to be consessions... I was planning for that trip to be a deluxe stay at the Poly for 7 days, but bumping up the trip, I'm assuming he'll want to stay at POR in the new Royalty Rooms (for DD of course, forget that DS wants to stay at the Poly and play in the volcano pool... me too). AND he said he wanted to go during spring break again... I asked him if he realized how much more it was going to cost us, but he countered that the weather was better than September, the kids couldn't miss school, and the parks were open until 3am...

Give the guy a few nights in a park with no one else around and he figures that's what we need to do all the time!!! :rotfl2: It will be a challenge to plan the trip and make it affordable, but I'm up for the challenge.

I hope you feel better soon!

I bet you were the talk of Mousekeeping for the day asking for those measurements! :rotfl: I am so jealous of your criket. I want one so bad, just like I want my own scrapbook room...sadly we have no room for either and I hate lugging all my stuff out of the closet for a few hours.

Sorry about the cut in photos for the newspaper! I know you will find the money to spend...

Cool about dh wanting to move up the trip. I am hoping that my dh will fall in love with WDW and we get to go back...not holding my breath though. He is currently on his first vacation in over 15 years in Mexico...and is telling us that we all have to come next time...crossing my fingers for that one!

I'm sorry you are not feeling good! But so happy to see you back on here some! :goodvibes Hope you feel better soon!
