If you put a 3-way in a 1-way

I think that when you put a 1-way in a 3-way socket you get the "medium". There are only 2 elements...low & medium. The high is a combo of the 2. I think!

We do it all the time. You'll get 2 clicks with light & 2 without. Does that make sense?

Like I said 3-1=2, so my guess is the middle setting.

Why don't you just: 1) try it or 2) get the proper bulb for the light? I don't think anything is gonna blow up by trying it. You should never use a wattage higher than what's stated though.

I know better than to respond to a question when a thread is more than one page. By the time I read all previous responses, I forgot what you asked. Sorry - I answered the direct opposite of what you asked.
