If you own a newer Honda Pilot can you give me your opinion?

save the money. it's just a car. I have a 2015 Pilot (previous Odyssey and Suburban owner). I love the Pilot. I loved my Odyssey, too. We went with the Pilot because of the savings over the Odyssey. I have 5 kids at home and we use all the seats in the Odyssey often. Just took a 2000 mile road trip with 7 people (so one unused seat), 4 of them teens. It was tight and we were a little tight with luggage room, but it was definitely doable. I agree that the Pilot is super smooth to drive. I would go for savings over newer style any day. Another option would be to lease the 2015 for a 2-3 years and then buy the newer body style at the end of the lease.

I don't want to lease we don't have to buy right now the Odyssey is running fine. We just came upon this deal and thought it was worth considering since the Odyssey won't last forever. We keep our cars for a long time. I don't want to make the wrong decision. It seems the 2016 Pilot and the new Highlander are more like crossovers then SUV's. Not that it's a bad thing

If having the new style is important to you, then get that. No point in buying the 2015 only to regret it and end up trading it in for the newer model. Buy once, cry once.

I love the 2016 redesign!!! I am currently on my 2nd Pilot. I had a 2006 and currently drive a 2008. I'm not a fan of the current design (2009-2015).

I will likely get the new 2016 design, but not until 2017. 1st year redesigns often have issues that get worked out by the 2nd year. :)

We bought a 2015 Pilot Touring in December. So far, we love it. Super roomy and comfy and I find that it drives just like a car. We had a 2007 Pilot and the newer ones drive so much better. Steering is so easy and it drives really smooth.

Yes we need the room, we bike and want to put our bikes in back for traveling. I agree on the CRV it is a great car, my DD has a 2014 and I love it.
My Mom has a Pilot and she constantly complains about how little room is in the back of it. They took it to Jensen Beach, FL (about a 12 hour trip) and my Dad, who has back and hip issues, thought it was pretty comfortable. They put the third row of seats down to have more luggage room. If we ride with them on our next trip to WDW (7 people), we will have to use the carrier they bought which attaches to the back hatch door to have more room for luggage. If you haven't already, take it home while trying it out and make sure you have room to put the bikes (or buy a bike rack). I've driven lots of cars since I used to work for a used car dealership, and I don't think it drives exceptionally better than a minivan or is a noticeable difference in size like a car. We live in the mountains and they have a cabin on their farm with a dirt/gravel road and Mom thinks the Pilot's 4WD is better than my Dad's truck's.

We have 3 Honda Pilots: 2004, 2010 and 2014. They all run very well and we couldn't recommend them more. We have 2 very active boys and we've always had plenty of room for sports equipment with the 3rd row down. We have not had any complaints from kids/teens who have sat in the third row seats though there is noticeable less leg room than in the 2nd row. Our DS17 drives the 2004 and we feel very confident that he's in a safe vehicle and prefer that he's the one driving when his friends go out with him who have smaller vehicles.

We have both a Pilot and an Odyssey, and I would choose the Odyssey, by far, over the Pilot. We just took a 14 hour round trip this weekend with our three kids (ages 5, 7, 9) and I felt SO crunched up in the Pilot. There's hardly any space in the "trunk" part, so we ended up folding 2/3 of the backseat down, which left only a small seat for my 9-year old. And my DH's pilot was averaging about 18 mpg (whereas I'm usually at 23 in my Odyssey).

I actually do not like the new design...so for me it be the 2015. I like the big boxy look.

I don't think they look like a crossover. That is what the Honda Crosstour is. Which I have and absolutely LOVE!
