If you own 150 pts how can you ever stay in a Villa???

dumb question but here it goes.


IF I own 150 at SSR and want to rent a Villa for 7 nights for 570 pts.I can only bank one year and borrow one year right? So I would only have 450 total.

I assume you are talking about a "Grand Villa", which at SSR take over 500 points per week, no matter what season you are looking at.

Your only option would be to book as many nights as you have points for and pay cash for the remainder...or rent/transfer points from another member.

I didn't think you could have more than three years of points in your account at one time - if that is true, you can't transfer in more to cover. You'll be limited to a 450 point reservation.

(Most people would drop the weekend to get down to 450 points. Tell your guest you've got them covered Sunday through Thursday, but if they want to come down on Saturday, they are on their own. Around here, most people would add on).

There are two ways to rent points...you can rent a ressie from another member, that member would make the ressie using their points...as long as it is after the 7 month mark, it won't matter.

If you are looking for the member to transfer points into your account for you to make the ressie, in theory, to make 11 month ressies, they should be from the same resort...in practice, Member Services' computers currently do not track "home resort" on transferred points. That may change in the future if they see a major problem with this point "morphing."

So how does it work when you do an "add on". Say 50 pts at SSR but you own at OWK 150. Could you use the total 200 on one rental? I thought I read here that someone owned 50 pts at OKW just to be able to rent a Grand villia once and a while? Thanks for the answers.

Owning at two different resorts through an add-on, you could use your SSR points to reserve SSR rooms at 11 months and the OKW points to reserve OKW rooms at 11 months...or the points can be combined at the 7 month window.
