If you never got a towel animal would you be disappointed?

Do you care if you get towel animals

  • Yes because I think they are so cute and my kids love them.

  • No because there are worse things then not getting them.

  • I never heard of them before.

I was looking at the responses this thread http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1531858 and it got me wondering this question, if any of you would be disappointed if you never got any towel animals during you're whole time at WDW?

I personally don't care if my family and I ever get them because I don't see what is so special about them. Besides since we are on vacation in Walt Disney World with everything they offer, that is way better then some towel animal.

Personally I don't care if I do or not. Only until recently have I seen DVC giving out towel animals on a regular basis. For a few years I didn't see any at all. Definitely NOT something I care about at all.

I don't mind not getting them, but if I do, it does seem like extra pixie dust... in a bunny shaped kinda way ;)

Couldn't care less if we didn't get them, but if we did, I am sure the kids would love them.

I've been to Disney staying on property many times and have never got a towel animal, really it doesn't bother me because I'm at Disney! It'd be neat to get one at least once, but not something that defines my trip.

I've had an amazing time at disney all these years without towel animals, so it's not a big deal. I'd much rather people with small children get the towel animals, since I'm sure they are really cool for kids to see in the room, than me anyway.

We got a towel animal on our last trip, but otherwise I have never gotten them before. And, to be honest, I could care less about them. They are just a nice bonus if you do get them, and if you don't it is no big deal. :)

We liked coming back to our room and seeing if we had a new towel animal. But, if we didn't get one, that was okay too. During our 10 day stay at the CBR in June, 2007, we received five different ones.

If you are a parent with young children, it's nice to see your child's face light up at seeing the different towel animals. When our son was younger, he cared more about the towel animals than he does now that he's "old" (just 10).

If you heart is set on receiving one, I would suggest you leave your mousekeeper a note. I did this a couple of years ago and we received six during our 10 day stay at the CBR.

I put towel animals up there with "getting the right table at the right time at Cal Grill or Rose and Crown in order to see the fireworks" as among the most overrated things at WDW. I can't believe that people really get upset when they don't get towel animals (or worse, that people spend time planning out things they need to do in order to get towel animals).

I agree with you. I just don't see the big deal, so I wouldn't care if we didn't get any. In fact, we never have (to be fair, we've only spent 5 nights at Disney resorts! :rolleyes1 ). We did get a few on a trip to a African themed waterpark resort closer to home, and the kids were amused by them for all of 5 seconds. Its just no big deal to us when we've got so many cool things to do and see.

I dont care either way whether I get them or not I mean its nice to get them but I wouldnt cry if I didnt get them.

In all my stays at Disney, I've only had one towel animal. On DCL we had one every night and like the previous poster said, my DD was amused for 5 seconds.
No big deal whether we get them or not.

The past trip (January) was the first time we ever DIDN'T get any towel animals. I admit it, I was a little disappointed -- but it certainly didn't ruin our vacation or anything. They're nice to see when you get back to the room, but certainly not "expected".

well I say No.

that say when I get one the maid definitely gets a much, much bigger tip than I normally leave.;) :thumbsup2

they are cute!!!

of course I voted no but the truth is, we had quite a few last trip so if we don't get any this time I'll be a little disappointed. No end of the world as we know it disappointed but a smidge.

i have never gotten a towel animal it doesn't make or break my trip to the world. If it happens it happens if it doesn't oh well mickey is still there to see me :lmao:

I guess I'm just a big meanie but I would much rather have mousekeeping spend their alloted time cleaning my room than making animals out of worn out washcloths and towels (especially with all the reports about how mousekeeping has been steadily declining over the last few years). Also, there are some that feel the towel animals are a way to solicit tips -- I would be more apt to leave a gratuity if the room was spotless.

They were nice when our kids were little but now it's just more stuff cluttering up the room. I'd prefer that mousekeeping skip our towel animals and use the time to make something extra special for a room with children.

BTW: For some reason DH and I are towel animal magnets. We always seem to get them by the cartloads. Our record is four in one day at AKL.

I know that a Towel Animal doesn't seem like such a big deal.... but it's really great to come back to your room and see an elephant or a lobster starring at you from the bed! It's just that "little something special" that they do to make your stay that much better! Bring on the towel animals!!!!
