I was born and raised just north of Boston. Growing up, we didn't shop at any malls; we shopped in downtown Boston. My first job in Boston was in high school, I went to college in Boston, hung out in Boston, and have worked in Boston for the past 23 years. So yes, since it's been a big part of my life, I say I'm "from Boston", or more likely, I say I live south of Boston now.
I like to think I've mostly overcome my Boston accent, but LOL, when one of my Dis friends from Louisiana and I spoke on the phone for the first time we were laughing at eachother's accents. "Pahk the cah in the pahking lot in Hahvad Yahd."
