I can't find anything.

I can't get the book until tomorrow around noon. I just want to know what happens before I leave for Thanksgiving!!!!!

no sorry, I just haven't heard much about the book. I used to go frantic wanting to know what was going to happen in the next Plum book but I kind of just went stale on the series. If you want to join a bunch of rabid fans, check out some of the Yahoo groups and the FanFiction.net sites of alternate writing. Some of those people are writing Janet E much better than Janet E writes herself anymore. I'll probably read 18 sometime this week.

I was on JE facebook page and people are reporting that the book came out Saturday. I don't know why it came out early, it is not supposed to be out until tommore, but people said both Walmart and some other stores were selling it this past weekend.

If the guy I saw who I think is Ranger is actually Ranger, he doesn't have the "IT" factor for me. Debbie Reynolds is a little too well put together for Grandma Mazur. Her hair is too nice and neat and she needs to wear big frame glasses or something.

It looks like a fun movie. Hope it is!

I won't get it for a few more hours......but I bet she didn't take either guy to hawaii. (DRAT!) I bet she took her girls Lula and Connie.

ummmm - she's in a plane and there's annoying passengers. A big hairy guys is snoring, everybody else is annoyed, and a kid poops his pants. Lula picks her up at the airport, so you find out Lula didn't make the Hawaii trip.
I can't give you much beyond that because I've only read about the first 20 pages.

I just finished reading it. I like the whole Stephanie Plum series, all of the characters make me laugh. I actually like the ending of this one and am looking forward to the next book.

She has two tickets to Hawaii and she offers one to Morelli, but he can not go,so she goes by herself. Once there she sees a high level skip and calls Ranger who shows up to help her. Then Morelli shoes up to surprise her and he and Ranger get into a fight and she leaves by herself.

I was disappointed. I know at some point (was it book 12?) she fired all her employees and hired all family members. There's been some discussion on other sites if she is still actually writing the stories or if her daughter is. They have been going downhill but I was disappointed in 18. What was there, two pages about Hawaii?

I want to know more about hawaii. Where did she get the ring? Did he have a ring? Did Ranger bring swim trunks or just dress in his usual black all the time he was dressed.? did they go out partying? did they go out and do anything? (We know what they did when they were at the cottage.) While they were at the hospital, did Ranger explain to Joe why he was really there on the island?

I will say I was glad to know that Morelli's temper was quick and he went after Ranger. I think that confirmed to me that he really does love her. I just want them to be together permanently. Although I would miss hearing about Ranger......in my mind, he is soooooooooo hot.

What wasn't in book 18 that you would have liked to have seen?

Yes, she left her agent after book 12 and she had a pretty big name agent. It was huge news in publishing. The rumors about her daughter's involvement and ghost-writing have been rampant for years. St. Martins Press wouldn't meet her contract terms this year and she was picked up by Random House. It'll be interesting to see if Random House will continue to publish because she demands big money to write these books and I'm not sure her sales are supporting it anymore.

The storyline has been choppy at best. A book will end with some sort of "cliffhanger" like the Hawaii trip and then it is pretty well dropped in the next book. There have been some books were it seemed like either the author had forgotten all her previous books or whomever was writing for her hadn't ever read the previous books. It really wouldn't bother me so much except I wish that if she were going to turn the series over to a ghostwriter she'd at least get a GOOD ghostwriter.

That's kind of why I just really don't care about how this book ended. Chances are pretty good that it will be completely reversed at the start of the next book anyway.

mostly I'm just tired of the Laurel and Hardy act. Stephanie was always kind of a dubious Bounty Hunter, but it was an ineptness caused by inexperience. The thing that made her likeable though was that she was clever. So rather than getting better with experience - she turned really stupid and the cleverness is kind of gone. Now it is just two stupid girls who eat and bumble their way through life.

I want more character interactions. I want more conversations between steph and Ranger. I want more than just a couple sentences. I think the author needs to give us more about Stephanies personal life than just a few snippets in between chasing her crazy skips.

One thing that drives me CRAZY is that the facts aren't even the same anymore. Sometimes Morelli has a scar over his left eye, sometimes it's his right. Sometimes Steph's mom's name is Helen and sometimes it's Ellen, sometimes Steph lost her virginity at 16 and sometimes it's 18, Steph's bathroom also tends to change color, as well as her parent's neighbors change names.....on and on.

Yes, a GOOD ghost writer would have been a blessing. Unfortunately.......I'm not so sure this one really read the previous books or kept track of details.

I agree. I want to know more about Ranger's background (we know about Joe's)....we know so little. In book 18, it's eluded to that he has some big stuff in his past but what is it? Also, as much as Steph LOVES birthday cake, has this poor girl never celebrated a birthday since the books started?????????? seriously? what kind of gifts would she have received? and did the guys get her gifts?

I really like her best friend Mary Lou. I'd like to hear more about things they do together. One of my favorite lines was when Mary Lou saw Ranger waiting for Steph in the parking lot and she said something like "if he were waiting for me, I'd need depends!" See? I think her friend has a great sense of humor -- just like to see them together more often.
