Which do you think is better?
My BJ's is expiring this month and i am thinking of costco for a change. Only problem is its farther away than BJ's.

I had memberships at both one year. I like BJs better because they take manufacturers coupons and the prices seemed to be much better

I have both. Costco has a much better and more liberal return policy. IMHO I think Bjs has much more food offerings such as a deli and more choices. Costco has better furniture and large items.

Short answer - Costco - cleaner - better meat but I belong to all 3 - Sams, Costco & BJ's and each has their own appeal.

I have memberships at both. If I want great meat or produce...always Costco. Costco also has prepared fresh, ready to bake, stuff peppers, chicken alfredo, pizzas and much more! But, there are certain items I buy at B.J.'s that I can't get at Costco. I do love the deli at B.J.'s. If I had to give one up, it would be B.J.'s.

I always thought of Costco as an upscale BJ's. There are a number of items than I can only find there. I do like that BJ's has a Deli and also like their Bakery cakes better than Costco. I used to belong to both but Costco is alot farther so I only belong to BJ's now.

I have both - but I find myself going & spending more at the BJ's.

What I have found out is that the BJ's has almost the same foods I buy at the costco, but in a smaller package, which works better for my family of 4.

Bag of organic apples is 5 lbs. instead of 10. Most of the produce and veggies are just a little bit smaller, therefore they don't go bad really b/c I'm not having to plow through the big big bags of items faster.

Organic ground beef is in a 3 pack, and 1 lb. each at BJ's. Costco has the meat in a 3 pack, it's $4 more but each pack is 1.35lbs each. A bit too much for what I use it for the 1lb. pack is perfect for us.

I like the pick your own chip section, better bread and roll variety, a deli, bigger milk and egg selection ( and organic milk is a 2 pack not 3) and I like that they have more of a selection of "name brand" items and not just the berkley-jensen stuff to choose from. Costco has kirkland which is great, but what I have found that in my costco sometimes an item is only available in the kirkland brand.

Anyway that's my .02!

I have memberships to both, but tend to shop at BJ's more. Prices are pretty comparable, but Costco's seems more crowded and has longer lines to check out and get out the door. Also parking is more of a pain. Costco's does have a few more gourmet items than BJ's but for the staples I use, BJ's is great. I do like the restaurant gift cards at Costco's which are a good deal (Baja Fresh for example, two $25 cards for $40, so 20% off). But I go to BJ's about once a week and Costco's once every few months, so I will probably let my card for Costco expire in January.
