If you have an Early CP PS, Can you Go Back to Gate to Wait for Opening?

If you have an early PS at Crystal Palace, can you walk back to main gate and wait inside for Park Opening Party? -- We missed this last time we were at WDW...what is it like and where do characters enter from? Do they come off the train?

Once you are inside you can walk all up and down Main Street. So if you have time after eating then sure, you can definitely walk back down to the gate area if you want. But I would recommend using that time to position yourself in the park near a ride or attraction you want to do.
