If you have a late flight, how do you secure your luggage?

Just booked the Desert Palms Hotel for July 26-August 1, 2015!!! Since we're flying to California from NYC, we are considering taking the red eye for our return flight. That would also give us time to do some more things, maybe spend another day at the parks, or enjoy DTD.

Please don't laugh at us...we are from Brooklyn, NY and always worry about items being secure, especially in the car all day while we are out and about and sightseeing. Do the hotels in the area hold the luggage for you for the day? I've never been there before, and I know that the WDW hotels in Florida do this, but I also know a Disneyland trip is very different than a WDW trip in a lot of ways. Any suggestions? Or should we just take an earlier flight?

Thanks in advance, and excuse our wackiness! ;)

I know all the onsite hotels will store luggage, but you can always just call your hotel and double-check if they do.

I called the hotel I am staying at in Oct and they told me they would store it for me for no extra charge on arrival and departure days. Just call your hotel and ask. Have a fun trip!

Some hotels will hold luggage for you, some hotels will not. Most hotels will. I have never stayed at a hotel that will not.
I would suggest calling the hotel that you are staying at and maybe asking a staff member if they will. If you call and the answer is yes, then they will.
If the answer is no, then they will not.
Do you have the number of the hotel that you will be staying at? If not, I suggest you get it. Their telephone number can be found on the internet, or a phone book. If you don't have internet access or a phone book, I would find a pay phone, usually they have phone books in phone booths. There are 2 sections to a phone book, the white pages and the yellow pages. The white pages are usually for looking up residential phone numbers, the yellow pages are for commercial purposes. May I suggest looking under the yellow pages.
It's in alphabetical order so I would look under "H" for hotels.
Good luck, and I look forward to hearing an update on your issue.

So glad you asked this question. I was wondering the same thing. We normally go everywhere in our camper, but this time we're treating ourselves :yay:

Whenever we've stayed in a hotel in Anaheim they've stored our luggage for us until we were ready to leave. Send them a quick email or give them a ring just to reassure yourself.

I've never stayed at a hotel that didn't have a system set up where they can lock your bags in a closet. If it's more of a motel I would call them just to know for sure.

Yes, luggage storage is a common service at hotels (not necessarily motels, though) in the US. Like others I don't think I've ever stayed at a hotel in the US that did not offer to do this.

I have stayed at hotels that charge a few dollars per bag, though. So be prepared to at least tip, but possibly for a fee.

We are definitely prepared to tip for this service, whether it's a charged service or a free one. I'm going to contact the hotel directly.

Thank you everyone for the info! We've never had to worry about this...this is literally the first time DH and I are flying anywhere together! Whenever we go on our road trips, we just leave when we check out of the hotel. Last time I flew was in April 2000! My kids are flying for the first time ever and they're excited! Me, not so much but I hide that from them of course!
