Or just are responsible for your own diet -
I have a link I suggest you watch. It is Jamie Olliver's TED acceptance speech from this month. It is 20 minutes long, so a bit of a time investment. But he's cute and funny and he has some very relevant as well as interesting things to say.

I'm not going to get into school lunch funding and free lunches and Michelle Obama etc etc etc because that will head into Politics and is against board rules.

But perhaps everybody could just take a moment to think about their own personal food policies and how they could be improved upon.

I have changed the way I eat over the years. I don't go to fast food places most of the food is nasty. I buy my meat from the local butchers and fruit and veg from the local greengrocer. I have an allotment (allotments are a plot of land in a communal garden where you grow fruit veg and if you want keep chickens) because of this allotment I will tomorrow have 16 seed trays (40 pods in each) with two different types of peas I already have 6 trays with just mange tout. Over the year I will be growing all sorts of veggies from black currents to squashes (heritage as much as possible). So my allotment will provide fruit (strawberries, raspberries black, white and red current, gooseberry and melons) and also provide fresh air and exercise all for the rent of £8 per year and the costs of the seeds. I cook all of my food and it tastes better, the other week I cooked a meal for my mother and myself (it was a 6 person meal) it was a baked chicken curry we ate 2 meals that day for dinner I ate the next 4 as lunch over 4 days. So as I keep most of the ingredients for this sort of cooking the only thing I needed to buy was the tomatoes, coconut milk and the chicken.
