When in February would you go? Do I just need to avoid Presidents Day weekend?

You should avoid the weekend starting the 16th up through the following weekend. So basically 2/16-2/24. That is a very crowded week in the world. I would shoot for earlier in the month.

The whole week with President's day is busy. (NY, MA and other states get it off). We do that week every other year as it's one of the school vacation weeks. I'd recommend going before that week. Not sure how busy it is after President's Day week, although I know that NH gets that week off. Temps can be iffy in February...we've been there when it's in the 40's and when it's in the 80's...the earlier in February, the more likely it'll be a bit cool.

This last February we spent a week at OKW. We tried and tried to extend our stay but DVC was booked solid. Turns out it was due to President's Day weekend. Go earlier.

Weather was wonderful!! I guess we were just lucky since it was freezing cold the year before.

First two weeks of Feb have moderate crowds but more a risk of cold weather than late Feb. Crowds are also manageable last part of Feb (post the Friday after Presidents Day) and into early March.

In terms of points, it changes from Dream to Magic season on 2/16. That can cost you 10-25% more points depending upon resort, villa size and view.

Ideally you'll want to avoid at least the 3 days around President's Day (Sat before thru Monday.) But a moderate spike in attendance will continue through the next weekend.

Other than that, crowds are pretty low before and after the Preesident's Day holiday. It mostly comes down to whether you're willing to pay the higher late-month points for the greater potential for warm weather.

We're looking at a feb 23 arrival. Kids have that week off this year. Our district has never done that before. How would people compare that week to the first week of June? All weather issues aside, is it a better week crowd wise?

Ok, now I am even more nervous...I have points in holding so I can only book 60 days out. I want to use them Feb 21-25 for the Princess Half weekend. I have 59 days until I can book.... DVC experts, do you think I will be able to get a room? I don't care where I stay or if I have to do a split stay, I'll switch every night if I have to...Should I risk it or try to rent them out now and book a value so I am guaranteed a room? Oh, I just don't know! There is availability at three resorts now (AKV, SSR and OKW) so I guess I will just keep watching it...

In June, a lot of schools are already out of session. But February is a little early for spring break for most.

Not sure about 2013, but in 2012 we were there first week in June.
Star Wars Weekends were still going on. This has it's loyal followers so the crowds were larger.
Additionally, the first weekend in June is Gay Days. MK will be more crowded that weekend.

And this year be aware of Mardi Gras as well. (possibly every year, not sure, but I just know about this year because we made a reservation that hits both MG and Pres Day)
