We are going to Universal for 3 nights and would like to try some universal restaurants. If you could only dine at three restaurants at the parks/Citiwalk/at the resorts which would they be and why?
We are 2 adults and one 8 year old!
Can't wait to hear all your suggestions!!!
Debsx:banana:

Sal's at Portifino--excellent pizza (they use a brick oven)

Finnegans in the Studios is good and different. It's a sit down resturant.

We liked NBA City too.

It would have to be Mythos, without a doubt. Voted best theme park restaurant year after year after year. Don't miss that.

The Kitchen (for breakfast - fabulous buffet!!)

and then the other two I haven't yet visited but based on what I've read on here!!:rotfl:

Margaritaville

Sals at Portofino

- we also loved the casual style of the Beach Club at HRH and whilst we enjoyed the food it isn't really the type of place you 'recommend' for food (as its tasty but just 'everyday'- but location- lovely!!:)

Oh and for character interaction the Spiderman Breakfast is AWESOME!!! :worship: - although dont go for the food!!! - we had our BEST ever character experience but probably our Worst buffet breakfast - but having said that we will go again just to see Spidey!!

- the only other place we tried was Bubba Gumps and I'm afraid we weren't keen!:sad2:

Thanks for all your responses so far....................a few questions......
1) How far in advance do you need to make reservations for Mythos?
2) Is Margarettiville child friendly or is it more of an adult destination?
3) Where did you have your spiderman character breakfast? What other characters were there?
4) What was Bubba gumps like?

Feeling hungry already!! ha! ha! :lmao: Debsxx

You can do same day reservations for Mythos. Just stop by any in-park dining booth/hut.

Margaritaville is family friendly. They have performers who roam the restaurant and make balloon animals, etc. Don't get the Cheeseburger in Paradise medium. I would recommend medium well. I was sick the next day after that one.

Spiderman breakfast is at Confisco's in IOA. Thing 1 and Thing 2 are also there; can't remember who else.

Bubba Gump's is just OK. Not my favorite, more of a gimmick. Plus, if you're picky, they are not good with substitutions, at least in our experience.

Breakfast at Islands Dinning room RPH.
Dinner at Margaritaville or Hard Rock Cafe at Citywalk.

in no particular order:

hard rock cafe
kitchen/breakfast buffet
mythos
louie's pizza
sal's pizza at pbh

i know. 3 was not enough.
it was 5 for my list or i don't post....

give bubba gump a pass if this is your first time for universal.
it's the ambiance you are paying for there.
food is fair to average. (i only eat the shrimp so that is why i base my opinion on fair to average)
the set up for ordering is cutsey.

bubba gump is a chain place.
i've been to the one at navy pier in chgo and the uo place is the same.

If I could only choose 3, it would be:

Lunch:
Gold: Margaritaville
Silver: Hard Rock Cafe for the French Dip
Bronze Tie: Mythos or Finnegans (depends on which park we are closest to)

Dinner:
Gold: Margaritaville
Silver: Mama Della's (PBH)
Bronze Tie: Sal's & Trattoria (PBH)

BUBBA GUMPS! Excellent food, great atmosphere, really friendly staff.

Hard Rock

Margaritaville

mythos - everthing is good!
finnegans - limited menu, authentic looking irish pub - didn't like fish & chips(undercooked); everything else we've ordered was great.
jurrasic falls/terrace - good ribs/chicken:thumbsup2

citiwalk - if ur 8 yo luvs racing, NASCAR is decent, Margarittaville in same league...though way more fun imo.:)

If you had to pick breakfast buffet, would you say that the one at "The Kitchen" at the hard rock and the one at "The Islands" at royal pacific are pretty much similar, or is one better than the other?

They both are priced the same....

Should I make advance reservations for Margeretiville? Or can you just walk up and get a table!?
Had a look at the menu and this is now definitely on our list of three!!!!

I can't really answer your question fully as I haven't eaten at the Royal Pacific - but I can say that the Kitchen buffet breakfast is fantastic:worship: - really fresh and I can't actually imagine you could get any more choice!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I am not sure if they take reservations. I do know last year when we went in June and they were really busy, we walked around to the side of the building and stood in the deck seating waiting line. We got a table in 15 minutes.

I don't know about Islands, but I can tell you that The Kitchen is really good. We stuff our faces at the Kitchen in the morning and then just have a light snack during the day instead of spending money on lunch in the park.

Thanks guys!
What is the breakfast buffet like at Portofino? And the Spiderman one at IOA?

We love Pastamore, Mythos, and the Emerils Tchoup Chop if you want one fancier place. Margaritavilles has big sandwiches too.
