Wouldn't you schedule it by the first week of December???:confused3

I am part-time -just work 2 days a week-with no paid vacation.

I asked to take off next week (asked during first week of Dec)and it was OK'd by manager-who "used" to be friendly with me...and boss)

I am the one they ask to fill in a day or 2 when someone is sick or on vacation.

So in the last 2 weeks Manager is griping that she is "losing" her remaining week of vacation..big sighs...she loves to play the victim

She is implying that because I'm gone- she cant take her vacation.
I had no idea she had vacation still due= I dont keep track of everyone's days off-SHE does.

:confused3:sad2:

One think I like about my employer is we are NOT on a use-it-or-lose-it situation with vacations.

My DH has a use it or lose it plan. He likes to be off the week between Christmas and NewYear's, so he requests it off in August.

Proper planning from the manager would have avoided the situation she is in.

Enjoy your time off!

Not your problem. She should have planned better. Enjoy your week off! :goodvibes

if you work 2 days then she could still take 3 couldn't she?

enjoy your days, planners are wonderful :)

What did you do to this manager that she's no longer friendly with you?

Here's a mantra to live by when you make your plans appropriately and then someone makes you feel guilty b/c they didn't plan properly....

"Failure to plan on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Note: Don't actually say this to bosses...though it does come in handy with children.;)

We can carry over our vacation leave to the next year, but we cannot carry over our Personal Leave, which is 4 days a year. People were abusing the PL by saving it all year, and then "needing" to use it at the end of the year, during the holiday season. Consequently, a new rule was implemented, PL must be used by a certain date or it will be forfeited. I believe that date is mid-December sometime. Works pretty good for us.

As I explained........ever since I requested and was approved my days off next week-and since manager apparently THEN realized she had more vacation coming......she is annoyed with me.

She was planning to ask me to work several days to replace her (mainly answer her phone and do some of her paperwork)

Sooo... you requested the week (aka two days) off, and she approved your time off, and THEN she 'realized' she wanted to take vacation and planned to ask you to cover for her for SEVERAL (i.e. more than two) days? Uh-uh.
