My girlfriend and I are going to WDW in december without our families for the first time (both of us are 21) and we have to decide between POFQ POR or WL. We are just going to do the standard view at whichever resort we choose, and we aren't worried about disney transportation because we will have a car for the 8 days we are there. I hear mostly good things about these resorts and we are having the hardest time making up our minds. Give us your opinions. We have already stayed at the Poly conc, GF, and BC. Thanks

I think it comes down to people's vacation budgets but if the WL fits into your budget then out the three resorts you listed I would go with the WL.

I've stayed at WL and at the old Dixie Landings (POR) and I would definitely choose WL if price is not an issue! We loved them both, but since you are used to deluxe I think you'll be more impressed with WL! Have fun!

WL!!! My DH and I stayed there before our DD came along and loved it. Very romantic. A smaller hotel but with great extras. Great location...

My DH and I loved our time at POR! It was very romantic, and the boat to DTD is great! That would be my 1st choice. 2nd choice would be PO-FQ... very quaint, romantic at night, and also has that cool boat to DTD! WL is my last choice. We have stayed there, and although the lobby and pool were nice, the rooms weren't all that great, and the transportation wasn't very good, either! I didn't feel that it was worth the extra money.

Put me down for PO- R!

If you didn't have a car, and MK was a multi-day experience I might suggest WL.

It's really about theme for me. We stayed in the WL in December and PO-R the first week in June and I really loved the PO-R.

I really preferred the grounds at PO-R and the Victorian style. I liked the pastel colors I guess I don't appreciate the rustic, darker room, lodge experience.

If I were you I'd go with the theme that appeals to you since transportation is not an issue.

DH and I have stayed at all 3 of those, and would recommend POR. Especially if you have a car-WL parking lot is a long walk (I know! DH refused to ever valet park). And although I think valet parding is free for guests there, you probably would be tipping every time and that can run in to money. POR is much more convenient, with parking very nearby.

I would select the WL at anytime of the year over the other two resorts, but with the Christmas decorations up, the WL would be a clear favorite choice over the other two resorts. I have stayed at the WL several times and at what was Dixie Landings once.

Just and FYI. Valet parking at the deluxe resorts, even for guests of that resort, is $6 per day plus tip.

Wilderness Lodge!!! No question about it!!! While Port Orleans is a nice resort, it's not the Wilderness Lodge! In my opinion, the lodge is the best themed of any WDW Resort. You take a boat to the Magic Kingdom... so nice and peaceful. The lodge is MUCH more relaxing than Port Orleans. It's much smaller, so getting around the resort is easier. Instead of You have your own balcony to sit out on at the Lodge, at Port Orleans, you do not... At Port Orleans Riverside, there are 2048 or so rooms, at the PO-FQ, there are just about a thousand... at the Lodge, there are 728 or so, plus 150 or so villas... The lodge has so many nooks and crannie's off the lobby to just sit and read or just sit and soak up the atmosphere. And in December, there is simply nothing like being at the Wilderness Lodge at Christmas!!! It just feels like Christmas there... from the HUGE tree in the lobby, to the carolers at night, it is the PERFECT Christmastime resort!

If money isn't an issue, then definitley WL.

I like PO-FQ better than PO-R. It's much smaller and easier to get around.

Stayed at POR after staying at WL twice. Disappointed with POR, although we've had some bad experiences with transportation at WL, I thought POR's was worse because you only have bus transportation (unless you have a car). The boat to DD was an hr and a half wait...ridiculous.

Pretty grounds, decent sized rooms at POR. We had a nice corner room. Otherwise reminded me of an upscale motel. And, if it rains you better have an umbrella:) to get to your room.

Pretty grounds, smaller rooms, but many more amenities, definitely a deluxe resort with lots of things to do besides the parks and you can walk around inside hotel if it's raining and not get wet.

I'm just a spoiled deluxer:):p

We fell in love with PO/R and have chosen PO/FQ for our next trip. Can't wait! Didn't care much for WL. In our opinion it's beauty was all it had to offer. The transportation was horrible and someone unlocked our door and tried to enter our room in the middle of the night. We got no explanation and no apology. PO/R was our first onsite Disney experience and it was just magical.

We just returned from 5 nights at FR-QT and 4 nights at WL...If you do not have kids...go with WL.... It is more relaxing than the FR-QT. The hottubs are the best.... they have 3......The only thing is at WL the pool bar did not stay open long. they do have a lounge and 2 sit down rest... The boat was slow to MK but without kids you problably will not be in a rush.... My 9 year old called WL an adult resort... she thought FR-QT is more a kid resort......have fun...corvair

Justin,
I think if all 3 are in your price range then you should go with WL. Afterall, this is the only Deluxe resort and with added ammenites such as private balcony, boat transportation, theme, and good bus service, and not forgetting the awesome pool and hot tubs it would be the obvious choice. I don't know how long your trip is, but you might want to consider splitting your stay between WL and POR. If you are staying more than 5 days that's what I would do.

if you can afford it I say WL..I love it there

I like POFQ...its nice there...very small resort and close knit
and POR is okie too!

if you can afford WL go for it..but all 3 resorts are nice! :)
