If you had a chance to see the world for 3 months, where would you go?

Hi :goodvibes
I finish my degree next year but am planning to travel for 3 months while I can. It originally was going to be longer but now I am planning on a trip Sept 2012-Nov 2012 (12 weeks) and I will be past my 21st birthday by then too. Reasoning for the 12 weeks is that within my part time job we can take 12 weeks leave and return to a job (I am applying for this tomorrow) , which will be much needed while I look for another :thumbsup2. I have worked every weekend at the same place since I was 16 and I have to say the prospect of a full time job next year scares me so what better way to have a break than to travel with my boyfriend and see the world, you only live once right!!

So here is the question, where would you go? Has anyone got any experiences in any other place but Florida? Hotels/countries/sights...

So far initial ideas are LA, Las Vegas, Bali, Italy, Toronto, Australia, Hawaii... maybe a little Disneyland ;) but obviously these will keep changing, the world is a very big place :rotfl:

I would love to go traveling at some point in the future. I would personally love to go around the US (maybe by train between some places) - I would probably specifically want to visit California, New York, Washington and Florida. Otherwise I would love to go to Australia, maybe doing a round the world trip with some stops on the way there and back. :)

Friends of my eldest DD are currently touring the US, they flew into New York and their goal is to visit as many different states as they can ~ they are travelling by train and Greyhound.

My niece did the Australia/New Zealand/Thailand leg a few years ago and had a fantastic time ~ she nearly settled in Australia for good but after three years was so homesick she came back.

I spent 8 weeks travelling a few years ago, mainly around Australia.

We went to Hong Kong, then onto Perth, Ayers Rock, Hamilton Island, Brisbane, Sydney and then finished up with 10 nights in Dubai. It was an amazing experience and I would love to do it again for longer.

I can recommend LA & Vegas from your list along with San Diego if you do choose California.

If you have any questions then feel free to ask. :thumbsup2

If I had 3 months to travel I would definitely travel throughout the USA and Canada, seeing everything I have always wanted to see. Wish I had done this years ago but now it looks as though we will do it when we retire. If we can save up enough we may just do it on unpaid leave.

Oh tough one as so many places to see, but think I would do a round the world trip to include Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, USA, Canada and somewhere like Dubai or Thailand.

I was going to write my list but Claire has already done so! I would love to visit these places, esp Thailand :thumbsup2

If I had a ridiculous amount of money then I'd tour the US West coast and then visit the East coast :)

Thankyou everyone for your replies so far :goodvibes I am so excited for the prospect of going to see so many places and sights, even if it ages away yet... still never too early to plan :thumbsup2 I need to do it before I get financial commitments so with a little inheritance money I have I am going to go...my Granddad really wanted me to travel with it so that is my plan

i think the far east is a great place to visit,as you see so many different sights, smells & sounds.it can also be quite reasonable price wise.
for me it would be somewhere, where the culture,is so different from ours.
we have visited china, malaysia, thailand, bali, vietnam & india & would definately return to these places, along with cambodia,i would then travel to australia & come home via hawaii & the states.
what a great dilemma to have,i would do it in a heartbeat,if i was your age.
enjoy your planning & let us know, what you decide.
