This may be a once in a lifetime chance for us to book a room/suite/concierge using 315pts. Where would you book/what is available? Spoke with DVC, they would put any of our 11/30 cruise pts into reservation to be used by the end of June. We arent planning on returning to FL by then so we would just eat the points now. But where?

How about the Grand Californian Concierge? We did this last June and had a wonderful time! I'd never been to Disneyland before and enjoyed seeing it and the new Californian Adventure.

That's a lot of points to burn! How about the Plaza Hotel in New York, or the Lincoln in Washington DC.

So many choices, so little time!

Good luck with whatever you decide!

If Im not on that ship I would be ready to be pampered. lol
We fly down to FL on Fri before DCL/DVC opens so Im worried we may be roomless when we arrive. Grand Floridian concierge sounds good to me. How many of this type room do they have? What's the chances of it being booked?

My husband and I spent 3 nights at the Plaza in NYC....... a wonderful visit, and IMO well worth the points spent.....

If you want to head to WDW...... then my vote is for the Lagoon view Poly concierge...... larger rooms, great view, wonderful food, fun pool, and great location!

Let us know what you decide!

315 points willn't be enough with conceirge for 7 nights, maybe do weeknights in conceirge and move somewhere else for the weekend nights.

Grand Floridian Conceirge

Sun-Thurs, 60 points per night
Fri-Sat, 108 points per night
Week = 516

Polynesian, YC Conceirge

50
90
Week = 430

AKL Conceirge

46
83
Week = 396

I've read some of these posts and am wondering why all the contingency planning? Maybe I missed something somewhere?

the number sick on the 11/23 Magic as of Tues night is 89
all the 11/30 cruisers have been called and given the option to cancel - as we dont want to do that yet I want to be prepared if and when DCL decides to cancel
DVC/DCL is closed Thurs and by the time they open on Fri we will have already flown to FL. Im imagining getting to FL and not having a roof over our heads for 8 nights!

Did they say they would give you your points back? Also, if they book you in WDW wouldn't you get what they gave you and not get points back?

DCL is an entity of it's own and it's affiliation with DVC is a vendor/customer relationship. Don't count those points until you see it in writing. Good luck. At least if you are roofless it'll be better the cold at home.

We spent 220 "found" points for Thur-Sun at AKL concierge. We did this during Oct, I am sure we could have rented the points and paid 1/2 of what we got for renting the points.....it was still worth it. We may do it again sometime, maybe minimize the weekendend points next time.

I had seen some reports of people thinking AKL concierge was the best on property.

Since returing, I have seen many, many, many reports on concierge offering from every resort. I spent a lot of time before and after the trip on the Resorts Board. The offerings described at the other resorts did not come up to the standards we saw at AKL.

I saw reports of two hot dishes, one being macaroni and cheese..two hot choices and a kids choice and mentions of some other things.

At AKL, and I do guess this is common across most concierges, the staff was incredibely helpful.....eager is an even better description. Its not that they got anything I couldn't get, it was coming up the elevator, grabbing a handful of really wonderful wings, strolling over and sitting down. Telling someone what you wanted, slobbering down a few wings while he or she eagerly does your bidding on the phone. Getting what you need, asking about lunch tomorrow, making those ressies, finish off the wings, thank the person, shake their hands with oily, wings dirtied hands, go grab a few swedish meatballs, a lump of wierd african stuff and head back to the room for a nap.....less than twenty steps away.

We had four hot choices and three or four, very interesting cold things, a great lounge overlooking the most fabulous lobby in WDW. Four very different, very good juice-drink things and of course, all the coffee stuff, a cold, glass front fridge with bottled stuff....and I am sure I am forgetting something else that was real good.

The sunrise Safari, only available to AKL concierge guests, was a great experience also.

Looking out at that savannah and seeing all kinds of cool animals almost every time you looked out was a pretty nice feature also.

We will definitely do it again.

One reason that I have been so verbose is that 315 points can do a decent length vacation in the AKL concierge, and we thought it was well worth while.
