If you go standby before scheduled flight, what happens to luggage?

You cannot get on a different plane than your luggage.

That's a rule for some airlines, for domestic fights. I'm not sure about international flights.

All checked luggage is now screened. Positive match isn't a requirement.

Op for my airline your bag goes with the flight you check in on, if I stand by for an earlier flight after I check in the bags still go on my original flight since that is what they are tagged with originally. If I am non rev my bags go even if I don't get a seat. Are you planning on asking to stand by at the gate or ticket counter? I would say it depends on how your bag is tagged when you check in.

Yes - I thought with all the new safety rules you could not put luggage on a plane that you were not flying on. That's been told to me when I've checked in - but I'm in Canada, and not sure if that's an airline rule or Transport Canada regulations.
