If you give a $500.00 deposit over phone

exactly what happens next? They fed-ex you papers to sign? How long do you have to get them back? Is there a deadline?
Could we give a deposit over the phone(if I find a way ) to secure incentive then take signed papers to DW with us end of May? I've finally talked my DH into buying into DVC and if I give him too long to think about it he might change his mind!!
If we put $500.00 down, how long do we have to change our minds and get a refund?(I know we wont but DH wants to know)

I'm sorry if all these questions have been answered but my brain is on DVC overload...

Hi, glad to see you've decided!

After you give your deposit over the phone (Mastercard, Visa, Amex), you will receive your paperwork in the mail in approximately 7-10 days. You are "supposed" to get the paperwork back in 7 days, although I've heard people say you can get an extension. One good way to get an extension, is to call back & change the terms of the contract, either add more point or less points, or something... then they have to resend the documents out to you... I think you would keep your incentive in that case.

Once you send the documents back, you are good to go... in fact, the afternoon that you make your deposit, you can make your reservations!

About the cancellation period, it's 14 days....

As far as any incentive goes, once you call, agree to buy, and give them a deposit, you are locked into any incentive. They then send all disclosure documents and contracts to sign and return. You send the signed contracts back in an overnight express envelope provided by Disney. You need to check the contracts you receive for actual current rules for backing out of the deal as it changes now and then. Believe it is now 15 days after you sign the contracts; a few years back it was 30 days.

soluc, we are in the process of doing exactly what you want to do. DH wants to tour DVC before final purchase, but we want the incentive! We can buy over the phone as we live in TX.

Our guide set it up so that we put $500 down over the phone. The next day I received our Membership #. It took 2 weeks to receive our papers (last Friday). We have setup an appointment for 5/6 to tour and return papers. She had this date typed into the paperwork.

We have 15 days after we sign the paperwork to change our mind and receive a refund.

Our guide has been very accommodating.
