If you get the free dinning plan can you pay to upgrade to the DDP?

Yes, you can upgrade. The following are the prices for the plans. If you are going from QSDP to DDP the adult price difference would be 18.01/night (assuming this is non-peak season). But here are the numbers so you can do the math yourself. You can always just call Disney and they will quote you the price difference.

Quick-Service Dining Plan (2 quick service, 1 snack per night)
(price for full year)
$37.58 per night ages 10 and up ($2.59 increase per night over 2012)
$14.32 per night age 3 to 9 ($2.33 increase per night over 2012)

Regular Dining Plan (1 table service, 1 quick service, 1 snack per night)
(non-peak)
$55.59 per night ages 10 and up ($4.05 increase per night over 2012)
$17.16 per night age 3 to 9 ($2.17 increase per night over 2012)


(Peak Season)
$56.94 per night ages 10 and up ($3.40 increase per night over 2012)
$18.16 per night ages 3 to 9 ($2.14 increase per night over 2012)


Deluxe Dining Plan (3 meals - either table or quick service - and 2 snacks per night)

If you are getting free QSDP (staying Value), then you would pay 18.01/night/adult to upgrade to DDP or 62.39/night/adult to upgrade to DxDP

If you are getting free DDP (staying moderate/deluxe), then you would pay 44.38/night/adult to upgrade to DxDP

In other words, you just pay the difference in the plans per night per guest

Do you know if you are already booked will they adjust the price if you qualify if you call?

yes they will adjust upgrade even if you have ddp or ddxp on your package already.

We have the free QSDP for September. We did the bounceback last Sept. I tried calling twice in the winter to upgrade and both times they tried to charge me the full price for the plan. I figured I would have better luck waiting until free dining was announced so again I called and tried to upgrade. The CM I spoke to redid my whole reservation and told me that they only had preferred rooms left for the free dining. I told her the only thing I wanted to change was an upgrade on the dining plan. If the CM you are talking to doesn't get it ask to speak to a supervisor. We finally gave up as we were on the fence about upgrading and decided it was to much of a hastle and it was meant for us to have the QSDP this time.
