If you focus on what you left behind, you will never be able to see what lies ahead

Congrats on your 10k PR! And awesome line up of races for the year. See you at Wine and Dine. :)

You might have checked runningintheusa already but I posted a link to a page with 7-11 milers for May. Not a lot there but maybe you'll see something. You can also jump over and look at halfs pretty easily.

I didn't realize you could search all the states at once, I gave up trying each state. Thanks for posting the link!

I am excited to show off the medal rack I made for Marathon Weekend! I wanted to get one of those expensive shadow boxes at the expo but after thinking about it I thought it would be fun to try to make my own. It took me about a week to finish it and I hung it up last night so I am now able to show off my medals in style :cool2:

Here is an up close

Now that the 2 week rest is over I can give you guys a training update! And thanks to the new 10k PR I am running a little faster these days.

1/23- 2.5 miles Easy A (Goal pace of 16:08) So excited to be running again and then I remembered how much I hated running in the dark, can it be daylight savings yet? mile 1- 15:34, mile 2-15:44, 1/2 mile 7:57

1/24- 2.5 miles Easy B (goal pace of 15:07) not much to report about this run. mile 1- 15:27, mile 2- 15:02, 1/2 mile 7:36

1/25- Rest

Also DS10 complete his first 10k on Saturday. I didn't get a chance to spectate because DH talked me out of taking the other 4 and waiting around for 1.5 hours at 7 am. He might have had a point but I am sad I didn't get to see him finish. It went well and he got 1st in his age group!! (I mean who needs to know he was the only kid in his age group and the youngest runner there that morning)

You shut your mouth when you're talking to me! Let's forget that part about losing an hour, because OBVIOUSLY "Fall Back" Daylight Saving is way better. I mean, 5 kids. 0 kids who will adjust properly to DST time switch. :crazy2::faint:

HAHA great job to DS10 on the 10K, and did I mention I LOVE that cutie picture? He is a rockstar like his parents! (Sorry to your DH, but you win the rockstar award since you're a marathoner ;) :rotfl:)

Nice job on the medal holder! Looks great. But I have to admit I'm distracted by the medal just out of the picture - does that say Run for the Pies?!?!

Also congrats to your son! That's a good time.

Congrats! Congrats! Congrats! Wow! I'm not sure where to start! First time poster but I've been reading along.
I ran Diva in leesburg last year as my "practice" half for wine and dine and it wasn't bad. I didn't wear the tutus and could've cared less about the "hunks" but it was a good run although very hilly! Your parents are near Fredrick, that's cool, that's my neck of the woods.
Wow, Paris! So jealous. I'll be running Princess as my first challenge and hope to get in next week for my first marathon.
Just wanted to say hey....omg 5 kids....I thought I was nuts with two! Lol

Just chiming in to say that I'm proud of you, sweet friend! Your marathon pictures are THE BEST - especially your "crazy face" one ... I think you look positively adorable!

I knew you would crush Dopey!

Thanks and thanks for following along :)

I'll keep that in mind about the Diva races. I was worried it would be too in your face, I feel like I'm there to run not have a bachelorette party and some of the pictures/reviews scared me off. I ended up signing up for the Frederick race. Being a Marylander I couldn't pass up the MD flag pullover and flag medal.

They are near Winchester, VA now but I grew up in Southern Maryland.

I hope you have a great time at Princess, I am sad I didn't sign up for the GSC but I gotta keep telling myself I can't run them all. And I don't think you will have any problem getting into the marathon.

Before I had my second I would always hear that going from one to two is the hardest and now that I have 5 I would have to agree. After 2 they seemed to get easier(definitely not easy but easier). Yes my house is super crazy and always a mess but it's definitely a happy crazy  I'm sure my fellow mom of 5 @wehrengrizz would probably agree.

Awww Thanks! It was so nice to finally meet you in person. I hope we get to meet up again at future races :)

i'm very close to Winchester, I'm in Loudoun County. Super small world. That's awesome you chose to run the Maryland race. You're right, the flag is the best!
