If you could piece together the perfect DVC resort from pieces of the current ones.......

What would you put together??? I like certain things about certain resorts, but I don't think I can pinpoint ONE that I would claim as MY PERFECT DVC resort that has everything that I would like.

I love the closeness to MK of the BLT, but the studios are small. I love the seclusion of the VWL, but don't care for their counter service. LOVE the BCV for their proximity to Epcot, Studios and BW options, but I feel like it's a lot of work to get from the villa section to the SAB plus their villas/studios are small. I love OKW for their two bed studios and large 1 and 2 br villas and love the relaxed atmosphere, but they also lack a decent CS place. I love Kidani, but it too lacks certain touches. NOW don't get me wrong I will stay at ANY DVC resort and have a great time that is why we purchased, but I definitely have certain things I like and dislike about each. I am anxious to try Poly and ONE day try Grand Floridian. Those are the two we have yet to stay at.

Do you wish your fave DVC resort had a feature or two from another DVC resort???

My dream resort would be:

Spacious rooms of OKW 2 bedroom
Pool of BCV
Proximity to Epcot of BCV or BWV
Community Hall (kids love it) of SSR or OKW
View of AKV
Table service of AKV, BCV, BLT

I like this!!!!!

If I could pick up AKV and plop it down in the BCV or BWV location I would be a happy camper.

LOL YES.... that would be perfect too. :) I like the size of the Kidani rooms but wished there was more food choices like at Jambo House.

OKW rooms, and resort layout, BCV pool, BLT View, OKW gurgling suitcase, WLV lobby, BCV AND BWV location!!

OKW rooms and point costs per night, BLT theme park/fireworks views, AKL grounds, and a really good pool, located on the monorail.

Not too much to ask, is it?

Tree Houses with amazing pool nearby (any pool with zero barrier entry and fun water slide will do), animals to gaze at out my windows, and walking distance to at least one park. Quick convenient transportation to the other parks, none of that internal bus switching nonsense. Bonus points for having an Earl of Sandwich within a five minute walk as well.

They've decimated the trees at VWL, so I would love the ambiance of Hilton Head with an SAB and they could put it in place of VWL.

Move the Grand Floridian to BLT/Contemporary's location, replace pools with Stormalong Bay, and turn some giraffes and zebras loose on the grounds (LOL!) Perfect resort!

OKW room size and point costs.
BCV pool and resort layout - like you can get everywhere without getting rained on.
VGF for room decor.
POLY lake view for best view.
BLT, BWV or BCV for being able to walk to a park.

asthetic/Decore of GVF
Ambience and proximity to Epcot of BCV
Bakery at Boardwalk
Room size and parking and landscaping of OKW

I can't do this type of exercise without considering the costs and realities. First it'd be an adjustment of points such that a 1 BR was roughly 40-50% more than a studio and a 3BR roughly 25% more than a 2 BR. That'd make studios & 2 BR more. Then I'd like to see either a 4 BR double lockoff feature, basically two 2BR put together. Ideally at SSR would have been 3 or 4 BR lake homes. If I had to work from existing resorts it's be the layout of villas at AKV attached to either EPCOT or MK.

Better rooms at SSR more like VGF , same location and a monorail to TTC. I am in heaven...

Speaking as a studio gal -

Oh DVC :wave:why oh why don't you put a stackable washer & dryer in any resort's studio unit? Even if you would dream up a new, higher, point classification, people would fall over themselves to book it.! I don't care if yo stack it in the corner of the main room by the slider to balcony & slap a mickey head on it re decor. No shade on any owner's home resort intended, but if they did so @ SSR, it would no longer be the last to fill :teeth:

If I have to be more unrealistic, how about:

MK view from BLT, especially if you score a standard with decent partial for the lower point cost
BCV's for SAB's lazy river
Grand, jaw dropping lobby such as WL/AK/GF
Priority park spots (section of lot gated off via MB entrance) for owners only staying on points
&
If the imagineers could transport VB's ocean over that would be swell:angel:

A W/D in a studio would likely be unreasonable but obviously helpful for some. What would likely be better, and what some resorts have gone to, is a standard 1 BR locking off from a deluxe 1BR. Often with a queen, full but smaller kitchen and smaller LR in the standard size. Many studios from other companies are also far more functional than DVC studios are. Marriott tends to have a King plus pullout with real kitchen supplies. Some Wyndham studios are more like a 1BR in many ways.

A couple of other thoughts. A nice benefit for DVC would be to model after Marriott allowing members changing villas or resorts to stay in one until the other is ready. No it shouldn't affect availability or readiness for the next guest. To add the the studio w/d ?, a small all in one might be workable. Ideally would be more effort again to requests. Or maybe a large Roman shower like at Marriott's Surfwatch or a multirectional shower like at Marriott's Marco Island or in some of Bluegreen's presidential suites. Or just higher end applicances like Marriott's, Bluegreen's and Wyndham's newer resorts and/or presidential suites.
