If you could pick only 1 restaurant to eat at...

If your wanting romance and budget friendly I would suggest either Grand Floridian Cafe, Coral Reef or Le Cellier.

California Grill. Get a reservation so you can watch the fireworks from the top of the Contemporary. Food is great. View is awesome. Not cheap though but worth the money.

Restaurant Marrakesh. It's hardly ever crowded and such a romantic setting. The musicians are a lot of fun to listen to and watch. The food is super yummy too!!

We just got back and we went to California Grill for the first time. Dh and I shared a flat bread, salad, appetizer and we both had filet mignion, and shared a dessert. The bill was $150 and we were STUFFED, could have skipped the appetizer and probably dessert and still been full. It was so neat to watch the fireworks, they dim the lights and pipe in the wishes music, really nice and the servers are AMAZING. We had Ron and he really made our night out special!

Upcoming trip (3 weeks away)is our first in many years so we're newbies..but after reading this board top to bottom, talking to my DB who goes several times a year..my picks would be:
Breakfast..Kona Cafe and we have ressies to eat there twice:)
Dinner.. LeCellier..and ding-dang if I couldn't snag a ressie for the whole week we're going to be there for lunch or dinner. I'll keep trying but it doesn't look promising.

No. CA grill tries to be pretentious, but mostly its overpriced and nothing special at all. And an ADR for the fireworks will only get you disapointed when they end up sitting you 40 minutes late.

We did the deluxe dining plan this time, so we ate almost all sit down lunches, so I should be able to help.
We loved:
-Tusker House, lots of assortment, great food.
-Liberty Tree Tavern. The pot roast and the Tavern Cheese were awesome.
-Coral Reef, nice atmosphere, great steak.
-Wolfgang Puck Express. Not a sit down, but the chicken was great.
So, those are some thoughts. We really enjoyed Liberty Tree for lunch, it was quiet and relaxing and the food was great
The only lunchs we have had that we did not like were at Sci Fi in DHS and at Prime Time 50s in DHS. Last trip we also enjoyed Le Cellier and Teppan Edo for lunch, Teppan Edo is like dinner and a show, it's so much fun watching them prep the food, but it's not very romantic!

Thanks everybody for the advice! I was thinking Liberty Tree Tavern for a lunch. Looks like they have some cheap options on the menu.
I might try to squeeze table service meals out of our food budget, but I will have to crunch some more numbers. :cool2:

My first thought before even joining disboards was Coral Reef. I showed my boyfriend the menu and photos and he didn't seem all that excited about it.

I did reserve a Princess meal at Norway, but I really don't think it is boyfriend friendly. :lmao: It's really my little girl inside wanting to eat there. princess: (But my wallet tells me to look elsewhere to eat.)

Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker house sounds awesome. Not terribily romantic perhaps, but I pick it just because it has Donald. He is my boyfriend's favorite. Looks like they have a lot of different types of food too, not just the typical scrambled eggs. I'll have to call about the price later.
Anybody like the breakfast they had there?

I think it would be awesome to go to the 50's Prime Time and just get a milkshake or sundae.

I've also read you can make reservations and just eat dessert at table service restaurants. Do you have to tell them thatwhen you make the reservation on the phone? What is the best place to just get desserts?
