Hi, I'm severelly alllergic to sugar:scared1: (I know it's a wierd allergy, but I'm stuck with it), and am planning 2 trips to DL, 1 with the family Feb/11 and a solo trip 6 weeks later in April/11. I was wondering if you could only have one special treat that you absolutely must have when you go to DL what would it be? Since I will only be able indulge maybe once at the most during each trip, what's your one have to have sweet treat in DL? Any thoughts about this would really help me out. Have a great day everyone!

Coconut macaroon drizzled with chocolate from the Blue Ribbon Bakery. :lovestruc

Tigger Tail or Dole Whip, since they are so uniquely Disney. :goodvibes With a sugar intolerance though, I'd be careful about the Tigger Tail...that thing is loaded! A bite'd probably do ya! ;)

So silly, but we absolutely love the mickey grahams. Like teddy grahams, but WAY more yummy. They come in a little bag.

Hands down, without a doubt, for me an Apple Pie Caramel Apple!!!!

Ditto on the Tigger Tail, although 3 of us shared one and it was plenty!

The one thing I looked forward to the most wasn't a sugary treat, but the Mickey-shaped soft pretzels! YUM!

I also love the Dole Whips!! They taste like Disney to me!

I have seen pictures of the Tigger tails, but can anyone tell me what they are? It looks like marshmallows covered in something, maybe white chocolate?

I do have to admit, I had one of those and it was really good.

OP, is it all sugars, or just cane sugar, or have you noticed that it's corn based sugars (dextrose, or the syrups, or even high fructose corn syrups)? DH and DS cannot have corn once it's made into a syrup...though they can have dextrose and cane sugars just fine. Give DH an old fashioned soda made with cane sugar and his blood sugar goes up a bit, but he's fine. Give him a Coke with HFCS, and his blood sugar spikes high, he picks a fight, and passes out. It's a HUGE difference. DS gets violent and mean when he has those ingredients. So most of what poeple have mentioned are completely out, doesn't matter how good the things might be, for DH and DS...can't even have Uncrustables (HFCS and corn syrup) or a Dole Whip (mainly chemical ingredients, and sweetened/thickened with corn syrup solids). And many of the ice creams at Disney have corn syrup in them (or even HFCS), including the ice cream in the Mickey Bar! AUGH. (we go to DTD for Haagen Dasz for ice cream, as HD is safer than the brand Disney uses)

So if you've noticed that different types of sugars cause lesser reactions, you might peruse the ingredient lists (bakeries all have 'em!) and choose things that won't cause a huge reaction.

Anyway, their chocolate chip cookies, so far, have been safe for DH and DS, so that's their goodie of choice. I like those, but that macaroon (I do not know the ingredients, as I don't have the freaky reactions to those things, and I wasn't sharing it) was really really good!

Churros all the way for me! It's been 13 years since I've been there to have one, but that will be one of the first things I will be hunting for when I go in October!

Yikes OP! How awful!

DL has lots of yummy treats, but my favorite are the dark-chocolate-covered marshmallows at Pooh's Corner. I have to say though, as AMAZING as they are, depending on how severe your reaction is, I'm not sure it's worth suffering!!!

I believe DL has some sugar free candy in the candy shop and Pooh's Corner, have you tried that.

A Tiger Tail is marshmellows on a stick, dipped in orange flavored chocolate, then drizzled with either milk or dark chocolate. I'm not sure which. I'm not a fan of orange flavored chocolate so I haven't had one, but they are very popular on this board;)

I'm not sure what I would have. There are so many yummy treats to choose from. One of my favorites is the smores candy from Pooh Corner or the candy shop. Graham cracker, marshmellow and dipped in chocolate. My mouth is watering right now!:rotfl:

Tigger tails are skewered marshmallows, dipped in caramel and then dipped in orange chocolate. They finish them off by drizzling dark chocolate on them to give it the striped look. Super tasty, but WAY sweet. Almost too much for me. I can't eat more than a few bites without feeling sick. :rotfl:

My favorite sweet treat is probably the chocolate rice krispie treats. Not sure why those are so much better than elsewhere. :) Although I'm not much of a sweets person.. I'd take a jalapeno cream cheese stuff pretzel any day over something sweet.

I believe that the 10 pounds I gained were from my churros and Tigger Tail having said that 10 pounds is so worth the DL treats!!! I'm just saying! :lmao:
