If you could choose one restaurant???

If there's a ballgame on, you can't beat the rib platter at Oak/Alchemy (T.V. there). Plus, you can hit the Dragons during halftime... just to keep everything churned up!
Aside from that, Mythos is the best.

What I find funny is IOA can have such great food and USF's sucks and is gross but both are created be the same person.

So Universal has terrible chefs at Universal and the best at IOA?

I don't know, so I'll just keep it as a fact that Universal's food sucks. Because I seem to be the only one here who thinks its good. I have eaten at the Enchanted Oak Tavern and had a hard corn muffin since that was the only experince I had there I should say the resturaunt sucks.

I'll just leave it at Universal food is ok to me.

You, know all this arguing back and forth about which park has the best food is getting kinda old. Uo2003- It's a FACT Islands has newer equipment and slightly different and better menus. That makes a huge difference when it comes to the quality of food. Believe me. So, IOA has a head start over USF.

That being said, if you all stop to think about it, IOA and USF are mirrors of eachother. Myhtos=Lombard's, Confisco's=Finnegan's, Mel's=Wimpy's, Bulengere=Croiscant Moon, Thunder Falls/Enchanted Oak=La Bamba, Comic Strip=Food Bazaar, Burger Digs=Richters, Cafe 4=Louies, Circus=Monster Cafe. The only difference really here is USF has Capt Quints and IOA has the Fire Eater's Grill. Pretty much standard menus for both mirro units, plus they all share the same exact standardized recipes.

Where you get your deviations is enerally the employee side- you get the occasional 16 year old kid or 10 year burned out Universla veteran, and of course you might have some problems. That goes for both parks. Maybe somebody is having a bad day when they made that spaghetti, JessicaR...believe me, happy people make happy food, and it certainly goes the other way. Does that justify it? No, it doesn't.

In escence, foodservice is an extremely stressful, demanding, unrewarding and at times, demoralizing job. IF you ever have bad meal, anywhere, just address it to the manager and let them rectify it. It's not good logic to lable an establishment as bad based on one or two incidents (now, three....).

Shew, had to get that off my chest! Oh, Mythos is the best! ;)

Hi Second Cook,
I definitely think Mythos is one of the best restaurants ANYWHERE. Although I have enjoyed meals at Lombaard's Landing, it can't begin to mirror Mythos!

i hear you secondcook, but got to agree with gschmerl that Lombards in no way comes close to mirroring MYTHOS.

And i would always choose Enchanted Oak over LaBamba except during MARDI GRAS.

I thought Finnegan's had a more Irish/Scottish style of food versus Confisco's Barbary Coast style.

but after that you say tomato and i say Ketchup

:smooth:

The comparison of Mythos/Lombards and Finnegan's/Confisco is more based on the type of restaurants they are and the clientel they generally are for, not necessarily the types of food they serve. Lombard's and MYthos are the premier restaurants at each park, with the highest prices, generally best food, most extensive menu...in escence nicest food. Finnegan's and Confisco are more the in and out bar food type places, aiming at the people who want table service but aren't looking for fancy meals (Well, that's going to change at Confisco if I have my way! ;) )

What's that mean? Are you going to be "First Cook" at Confisco's or something?:)

We always include a lunch at Confisco's and really enjoy the food, I just wish they would consider bringing back the character meal.

The character meal was so much fun. We always loved Confisco's. It's a great compromise between Mythos and counter service.

In what park and near what attraction is Confisco's located?

Confisco's is in IOA, after entering Port of Entry walk through to the end on your right . Its past crossiant moon bakery. My husband loves their burgers and I really look forward the the banana bread pudding with chocolate. They used to offer a special wrap daily...not sure if they still do, but they are very good also. They have some yummy drink concoctions too!
