We're planning on checking in very early to BWV and then hit a park until our villa is ready. Since it's a Sunday, I'm torn which park to start with. We want to spend a lot of time at Food & Wine Festival - but I'm a bit nervous about the large weekend crowds. Then, I thought about MK - that evening is EMH at MK so I'm sure the crowds will be large. Any suggestions? :confused3

We do AK if when we check. It's not a long day and you have time to come back and unpack and unwind.....Food and Wine is always to crowded for me on the weekends....So we do that during the week....
Have a Great Trip,
Debbie

I would likely do MGM or AK and save Epcot and MK for during the week. We usually get in late on Sunday, and usually start at Epcot, just because it is our tradition. We did find it to be a bit crowded during F&W though.

We usually go to Epcot, no matter which day of the week we arrive. Because we take early, early flights, with early, early wake-ups, our first day is usually just a strolling kind of day, and Epcot, especially WS, is a lovely place to stroll. The crowds don't bother us (maybe because we're originally from NYC :teeth: ), especially because we tend not to go on any of the rides that first day, so no lines.
With our F & W trips, this gives us an "overview" of what's new and what's available every year, and helps with our planning for that particular visit (I'm not talking about ADR's). :thumbsup2

Always start and end our vacations at MK!!!!! We don't feel like we're really 'there' until we're on Main St, U.S.A. with the castle before us!!!!

We're doing MGM this time. Dinner at PrimeTime and then Osborne Lights.

We check in also on Sunday, but at BCV. Our plan is to head over to Epcot and attempt to get on the Nemo ride. Afterwards, we are just going to go back to SAB and swim, eat dinner at Beaches, and then later MGM for fireworkds.

Everyone in my house is about bouncing off of the walls right now we are all so excited. MIL and FIL are leaving tom'w and staying 2 nights at AKL .... needless to say, I am very jealous!

We don't. There are no direct flights from here, so we always end up checking in after 4 pm. We checkin, go up to the room and unpack - I have to hang everything up,put things in drawers, etc (DH calls it "building my nest"). Then we take a grocery run, bring that back and put it away, have supper out on one of the Boardwalk restaurants, watch the fireworks from our balcony and turn in.

Going to the park always starts the next day for us.

We often head to DTD instead of a park (though it does depend on the season and how crowded it is...Sunday can be way crowded at DTD). Traveling can take a lot out of our kids (they are little still), so we like to just shop, eat, relax, then head home, hit the pool, etc. But for us, nothing gets us in the Disney spirit more than walking around DTD and just soaking it up! And of course, our first meal is always at Puck's! I like reading everyone's "first day" ideas and traditions.

We are coming in on Sunday and plan to go to Epcot because its the last day of the Nemo premier.

Nemo is the attraction of the day!! Checking in at BCV and heading for Epcot too!!

I absolutely totally AGREE with this statement....even if we don't stay at MK...we just have to walk through those gates, walk right down Main Street, and see that Castle and it is all good from there....

:thumbsup2

Normally when we get there it around noon and we will get to our resort and lazy around and then go grocery shopping and out to dinner at Chef Mickeys. but, that is when we get there at noon. This next July we will get there around 9 am so we will leave our stuff at the hotel and head to a park, probably a water park, and get going. But the first morning we wake up there it has to be MK!! I really feel like that is the way to 'officially'begin any trip!! I like to start and end with 'Wishes"!!

We are usually so excited when we check in that we can go on late into the night. With a Sunday check in August, we strolled DTD until 8 or 9 pm, picking up our annual passes and then stayed in the MK until 2 am! It was our latest night of the week, we kept getting more and more tired after that...Got to see the castle first though..

MGM. Nice mix of rides and a simple stroll back after Fantasmic. MK will be very busy and save EPCOT for F&W. AK to much wasted time with buses etc, plus no night show.

Checking in to BCV tomorrow (Sunday). Over to Epcot for lunch (F&W) then on to the Nemo preview!! :yay:

MK for my family. We start there no matter what. Once I see the castle then I know we have finally arrived!!! :goodvibes

Interesting that you ask. We returned last week from a week at Disney and also stayed at BWV. When we arrived Sunday (around 12:30) our room was ready (1 Bedroom). We decided since the parks do close earlier this time of year (Epcot is open until 9:00) to just hang out at the resort and swim, relax, get settled. It was a nice way to start the vacation. Maybe you will get lucky and your room will be ready earlier.

The parks were not bad the whole week (we hit the parks M-F, no weekends as we left Sat morning), wait times were minimal except for Everest and Soarin.

I guess if we were going to do a park Sunday - we probably would have hit MGM just because it is so close to BWV, and we also thought the Food & Wine fest would make Epcot more crowded on the weekends. We loved the F&W fest (our second time), and it was easy during the week. No problems with long lines at the booths. Food was great too! Try Argentina - two great items - The Spicy Beef Empanada and a Grilled Sirloin with Chimichurra sauce and mashed potatoes - mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

We are arriving about 4 at the BWV and are going to do MGM.

The reason is that its just so close and we can make it an early night (for the kids). Another reason, is that there are alot of shows, so if its really crowded & fast passes are gone, we can spend the time doing the shows without all the waiting in line. Plus, if we decide to skip Fantamic we could do rides during that time with no little to no wait.

The next day we will be off to the MK (Friday & do the MVMCP too).

We haven't made our first trip to WDW yet, but go to DLR at least once a year. At DLR the first place we go once we check in is DL. DH is OK with me planning everything for our first WDW trip, his only requirement is that we do MK first. For him that is when we are at Disney :cloud9: :lovestruc
