Oh, I miss Friendly's! They did make wicked thick frappes, not milkshakes, frappes.

This thread makes me miss living in New England too. Having grown up in southern NH and making lots of trips to Mass. and Boston, I'm feeling so very nostalgic now! Driving in Boston was seriously one of the scariest adventures I've experienced. One time I somehow missed the turn for Logan Airport and ended up in Chinatown. I still do not know how that happened. My Dad grew up in Mass. and is one of the most aggressive drivers I know! I'm pretty sure he fulfills the requirements for being called a Mass*hole.

I've been to more Red Sox games than I can count and nothing tastes more delicious than an Italian sausage loaded with onions and peppers after the game! Now I have to settle for games at Little Fenway.

A great Southie trend...once you shovel your spot, you can save it pretty much for the winter with a lawn chair, trash can, washing machine, etc. And DO NOT try to move someone else's parking spot saver, your car will be damaged!! I speak from experience on that one!

Oh, no, not any more. Forty-eight hours, TOPS, under the current administration - and it's ENFORCED! City workers drive through the neighborhoods - not just Southie - loading up dump truck with trash barrels, lawn chairs, old tires, crates, couches....
