We are paying full price for our room in July( thru member services) but we just purchased our AP's and I found a discount code that applies to the Boardwalk (where our 1 bd is) so can we apply that discount thru member services? How does that work? Everytime I think I understand DVC a new question pops up. I just thought I would find out before I call Member Services back.

You can't get an AP Discount on a room through MS. You have to go through CRO. Then the reservation cannot be linked to a MS reservation on points (or a MS cash reservation). So you might have to move. It can be worked out with the front desk when you check in sometimes.

And, you are talking about two different sets of inventory. What CRO has for AP discounts is not the same as what MS has for cash reservations.

Sorry I am so confused. Should I call regular disney booking and see if they have a 2bd villa for cash and use an AP discount if available. As of right now our villa is thru member services but I am not using my pts but paying cash and there were no discounted rooms available so I am paying full price. :confused3

If your reservation is fully on cash, and you are receiving no DVC Member discount through MS, yes...I would definitely call Disney reservations to see if there are any AP (or any other discount you may qualify for) rooms available. If so, you can book it and call Member Services and cancel.

If you want to use an AP code you must call Disney direct (CRO) not Member Services.

As Deb & Bill stated, MS reservations & CRO reservations CANNOT be linked. A notation can be made on both ressies & you MIGHT be able to stay in the same room BUT you will have to go back down to the front desk to check out & check back in again.

The only way to achieve one contiguous res when combining points & cash is to book it through MS & have the 2 ressies linked.

Remember, too, that you won't be able to get the DDP using an AP discount through CRO. If that is important to you.

If you can get the AP rate on your villa, you'll need to cancel the one you made through MS.

Thank you, Once I recieve my APs vouchers in the mail than I will try and see if I can get the discounted rm rate. Thanks for the Quick responses. :cheer2:

Don't forget, just because a member cash rate may not be currently available doesn't mean it might not become available. You can always keep calling.
