The email I just received says that blood is needed. Most poeple don't know that soldiers that have deployed cannot give blood. They are in need of blood.

Please consider go giving blood. It could save someone's life.

I'm not a Twitter person, but I've been following it from a link on the other thread. I saw this -- it might give someone more info on where to give blood.

Scott & White Hospital in Temple needs blood donors for Fort Hood victims. Call 254-724-4376 for more info.

This has to be one of the most helpful posts I've seen on this board in a long time -- and could be Exhibit A for what a great thing the internet can do for everyone!

You are wonderful Tina!

I posted it on Facebook. I don't have any friends in Texas but asked any of my friends who do to post it as well. Thank you, Tina.

As a military wife and aunt, thank you so much for posting this information.

Please if you know anyone in that area, ask them to go give blood. With military members not being able to give blood and the post on lock down, people can't get out to go give even if they wanted to.

I'm sending out texts to everyone I know but of course most are military who can't give.

They are saying that you can donate in Ft Worth . The guys at Bedford Station 1 will be headed over there in a bit .

I wish I could donate I would drive the 1 1/2 there to do it .

Mad4Mickey, I'd give too if I could and if I was close enough. I gave for 9/11 (and ended up helping with some other things at the place where I gave blood since I had to wait around all day to donate) but I live too far away and I just got blood myself two weeks ago (which just reinforced how important giving blood is....I made a comment to the nurses at the time that at least I didn't feel guilty about getting blood since I'd given in the past.)

Thank you Tina, such is a wonderful gesture . I wish I lived near, my heart breaks for our military family. :guilty:

i've posted on my facebook page. not sure it will help, but it certainly can't hurt. if i weren't 2 states away, i'd already be there giving.
