If we're doing Ariel's Grotto will we want/need to do the Princess Fantasy Fair too?

Or is that just another chance to meet the princesses? We'll have two 4 y.o. girls, both moderately into princesses. I'm just wondering if the Princess Fantasy Fair would be somewhat redundant after Ariel's grotto.

You won't need to do the PFF. ;)

Well, I really think it depends. Who does your DD want to meet? If she's a big Belle fan and Belle isn't at Ariel's Grotto when you eat there you may want to think about taking her to PFF instead. If you see all the Princesses you want at AG then skip the PFF because it won't be necessary. :)

seconded! It just depends on who/how many you want to meet. :)

It depends on how obsessed the kid is with princesses and how far you want to go with the whole event. Nothing in DLR is mandatory viewing.

You may have heard of the Dumbo or Die tour plan. If you are on the Princess or Die tour plan then PFF is a must see. If you are just doing BBB as a treat and the kid does not have a room full of princess stuff then skip it. I would do it if I had a little girl who loved princesses very much but then I was a spoiled kid.

Ariel's will work as long as they get to see some of the princesses. You of course see Ariel & then 4 others come table to table.
First time there we saw Snow White, Belle, Jasmine & Cinderella
Last time we saw Belle, Jasmine, Cinderella & Aurora

So if meeting a few is fine.... stick with your meal plans. If they're needing more than add the PFF...just plan on very long waits.

I am not a fan of big lines to meet characters! I have heard of 1-2 hour lines at PFF. We usually do Ariel's, but this last trip, we actually did the PFF line twice. It was raining and miserably cold; hence, short (30 min) lines at PFF. The one thing that we learned was that (disclaimer - at that time Feb. 2009) Pocohontas was there on Thursdays only. The courtier at the front of the line said that they really tried to work things so that girls that really wanted to see Pocohontas (on a day that she was there) would get to see her. I assume that meant letting other people go ahead and working the line so that Pocohontas was one of the three when the girl went through. So keep this in mind when deciding whether to go or not.

FWIW we have seen mostly the "standard" Princesses while at AG but one time we did see Mulan and Pocahontas. That was very exciting for our Princesses as we had never seen those 2 before. :)

Yeah I have to agree with the other posters. It depends if your kids are die hard princess fans or not. It also depends on how much your willing to spend to see the princesses or how long your willing to stand in line. Sure at PFF you don't have to buy things or give your kids a make over, but going might be tempting to spend unneeded money. Personally if your kids are just somewhat princess fans then I say just do AG and let the princesses come to you as you so back with a nice cold drink while spening some fun time with your
Kids.

Thanks for all the replies! Based on those, I'm thinking DD is going to be perfectly happy with Ariel's grotto. She's only just recently begun to recognize that there are different princesses and probably isn't going to be seeking out any one in particular. She is sort of interested in seeing Ariel though. Ariel does make an appearance at her own grotto, doesn't she?

Yes, Ariel is in her ball gown at the bottom of the stairs, they will call you name, you go downstairs and get a photo with Ariel. Then you are seated and the other Princesses come to you.

We have done both, I would first opt to do Ariel's Grotto, at least that way your DD will have the opportunity to see a few of the princesses without waiting in line....for 1-2 hours or more....And her favorite princess may be in the restaurant.

If you choose to do the PFF, I would highly recommend being there early and waiting at the rope to drop to get in line....
