If we want to travel Oct or May what use year?

Would someone help me with the following:

What use year would we buy if we like traveling in Oct?

Or second option...
What use year should we buy if we like traveling in May?

Even though I feel UY truly plays no role in vacations that are planned in advance. That being said a UY just prior to your usual vacation times would always be the best........Good Luck

I think Oct would be good for those reservation times, both are within your banking window if you ever had to cancel. Ideally, you would want a use year that begins just prior to your normal travel times. This is so that if you ever need to change plans, the points still have plenty of time to be used or banked. UY does not have any affect on when you can make reservations.

We like to travel in Oct. and Oct. use year has worked well for us (and we have had to cancel vacations on several occasions, so use year has mattered to us). If you had Oct. use year and did an Oct. or May vacation and had to cancel the vacation, you would have until May 31 to bank the points or until Sep. 30 to use the points. Essentially, we never go in the summer because we don't like the heat, so Oct. works well.

We always travel to Disney in October. Other times of the year are inconsistent for us. When we bought into DVC, our guide told us the only use year to avoid was December for cancellation reasons. Historically we have never called a Disney vacation, but we took his advice since you never know what will happen in the future.
