If we Visit Downtown Disney without Visiting the Parks our First day

A lot of people go to Mickey and Friends parking garage to watch the fireworks. I was stuck at the laundry facilities one time at the Disneyland Hotel and couldn't see them, but my kids at the pool said they could see them. If you can see them there, you can certainly see them from DTD. You just can't see the projections on the castle or Small World.

The fireworks show this year is not a show, it is a production! Viewing this "show" from in front of the castle is the very best location. I do not want to say why in case you have not heard all the particular's but, "WOW!". But, you can see alot of the "fireworks" you'll miss the "production", granted you will not get the show, or the story, from other locations. But, from, the DTD area, I would go to the seventh floor of the Sierra Tower, of the DLH, to view the fireworks from the elevator lobby area. :rolleyes1 :tink:

While I 100% agree that this fireworks really needs to be seen in the hub of Disneyland to be fully appreciated, maybe you can plan to do that one of the nights you are in the park.

One of my sons went to Pinnochio's Workshop in the Grand California one trip and he said they took them up on the roof to see the fireworks. I am not sure if this is just for the Workshop kids or if it is open to the public. No other information at all really, just something to look into, and I can imagine that is just about a perfect spot to watch them from DTD. We also saw the fireworks really well from the place where the sidewalk meets ESPN's parking lot area (on the opposite side from the Disneyland Hotel).

If you are going to be in dtd and try to see the fireworks, I would wander over to the paradise pier hotel. If you go to the pool area you'll be able to see the fireworks and they pipe the music in. You wont get the full show that you would see from the hub, (and I recomend you do watch them in the park at least once during your visit) but it will still be pretty good for a "free" show.

We saw them one night from DTD in front of the Libby Lu store. The music wasn't piped in there but there were some street performers playing and there was lots of room around us. It was very nice. If possible you should try and see them from the hub but seeing them at all is good (seeing them twice even better!). :thumbsup2
