Well, DME luggage is not transported in the same vehicle as passengers. However, you have the option of NOT putting the DME tags on your bags, going to baggage claim and getting your own bags, and then taking them to the DME bus with you. The driver will load and unload your bags.
If you put on the tags and have DME automatically transport your checked luggage for you, you can request AT YOUR RESORT that Bell Services hold onto your bags until you call for them in the morning.
Keep in mind, no matter where or when you fly, packing a carry-on with a whole day's supplies is the smart move, anyway, just in case the AIRLINE delays your luggage, KWIM? I've ALWAYS packed with that in mind, to avoid a potential crisis. It's surprising how little room one day's worth of supplies takes in a carry-on. And I'm not just talking from the cheap seats here -- I traveled with 2 pre-schoolers!
