If we only have 1/2 day, MGM or AK?

We'll be going to WDW in January to celebrate our dd's 5th birthday. It will be me, DH, DD5, and DD 17 months. Our schedule is so full, it looks like we'll only have 1/2 day for either AK or MGM. Given the ages of the girls, which park do you think should only get a few hours? Thanks so much for your advice.

For a 5 year old and 17 month year old, I would suggest AK over DS.

Lion King Show is great.(find out times)
Safari is good(only ride you might do-so FP)
Jungle Trek(no wait)
(I think they might get scared with It's tought to be a bug)
Boneyard
There are other rides near the bone yard I have never done(because my boys went straight to Dinosaur at 5yo)

Beauty and the Beast
Sounds Dangerous
The Car show(LMA)
Little Mermaid

I love AK...but if you go to zoo's a lot at home(and your children love Disney movies)then pick MGM...If you just want a different experience, with a fantastic show...do AK.

Ditto. AK's Festival of Lion King will be loved by your kids! That alone is worth it, although the safari is also good. And believe it or not, we saw many many crying kids when we took DD7 and DS7 to see Little Mermaid at MGM (and even DD7 thought some of the characters were a little creepy).

Definitely AK for your kids at that age. Take the time to really enjoy the wildlfe, see the flora and fauna, and the meet-and-greets with the animals! It'll leave you all refreshed.
