If we book now for August/free dining...

... will I be able to get any reservations?

Last time we went I was booked months ahead of time and made all my ADRs at 180 days before. We're thinking about doing a quick trip NEXT MONTH... assuming we can get a reservation. With it being free dining will all the restaurants be filled? Is there any hope of getting into the any restaurants especially the more popular ones? Maybe it would be better to go with the room only discount and skip the dining plan. What do you think?

I'd check out the online dining system and see if you can get any of the places/times that you want. If not, do the room only discount.

online system makes it so much easier to see what may possibly be available. It even provides alternative times and locations in the general area if what you have requested is not available. You could probably have a very good comfort level in fifteen minutes or so by playing around on it.

website there is a link for dining on the lower left hand side. Just click on that. The restaurant option in the link gives you different areas to search in.

As I mentioned earlier, if you search for a 6:30 PM dinner at CP and it's not available, the system will search for other times near that. It will also search otehr reataurants in the MK. I know from the little bit I have played around with the system that it will not search the entire meal time. So if you're interested in a particular restaurant but flexible on the time then play around some. There is a button to modify search that makes it relatively easy.

Yeah, definitely check online to see what would be available for ADRs. Also, a lot of the resorts are filling up due to the Free Dining offer so I'd get right on booking something. We booked our trip about a month ago (arriving Aug 18) and already the value and moderate resorts were full.

Definately check to see what is available - because I know that I haven't been able to change many of my dining ressies due to availability.

I got an email that said that they extended it until July 25th. I don't know what resorts are still available, but I checked for the week that I am going last week and there were still some values available, which is a good sign because they are usually the first ones to go.
Also, last year we went for free dining and didn't have a clue that you had to get your ADR's so quickly and so I called quite a bit after I was past my 90 day and it was fine. I didn't eat at all the normal times or at all the places that I am going to this year, but it was my first time and I didn't know any better. We had a great time and got to eat at:
Sci Fi dine in
HDDR
Boma
Crystal Palace
Marakesh
Beirgarten

It was a great trip and we ate at great places. This year I called right on my 90 + 10 day and got other great places. I'm sure that there will be SOMETHING available.
