If we already booked can we book a NEW reserv w/code?

If we already booked and paid the $200 deposit can we book a NEW reservation with a code/promotion for the exact same dates then later cancel for the first reservation and receive a refund of the original deposit? Trying to limit the time of having to be on hold when a good rate first comes out to apply to code to an existing reservation.

No need to cancel. Just have to pay $200 on your card. Or you can book another and then cancel the first. Up to you really.

You shouldn't have to cancel. Just call and see if they can add the code to your trip.

There is never a time when you would have to cancel and rebook. If the discount applies to your booked dates they can just apply the promo code to your package. The only way they would have to rebook you is if you originally booked room only and wanted to change it to a package. Otherwise if free dining comes out or a room % off discount you can call and have them apply that to your package. Even if you needed to change the dates a little bit it would not have to be rebooked. Just changed. Same package same deposit.

Yes I know they can apply the code to the current reservation. But when the codes first come out the wait time on the phone is often long. I was hoping I could book a new reservation on line with any discount code then cancel the original reservation once the wait times are more manageable.
