I have a strong feeling I know who this person is and that they are a Dis member, which is why I am posting this.

If this was you, please be careful what you say in front of other players. You never know when one of them is a smaller child. Not all kids think alike and some of them have a great deal of innocence. You can also really hurt people in real life, even on a virtual game.

Last night, my daughter and I were both in Frontierland, on the dock when Dreams started. I was talking to one of the Dissers here asking her if she got kicked out on Wednesday.

When I was getting ready to leave the room, my daughter, being the sweet and cuddly little girl she is, walked over to me and said "my sun" referencing my shortened name. And she said it again and then I told her to "be good" and I left the room.

She walked out and somebody followed her. Walked over to her and made mention that she was a girl character and sun was a girl character and asked her what was wrong with her, but with some dictonary dancing bad words.

My daughter walked into another room and this person followed her one more time. Asked her if she was "gray" and my daughter had no idea what to say. She was not sure what that meant. Then another character joined in and started asking my child if she "gloved" girls. My daughter is not going to say "she is my mom" because she is afraid of getting banned. There were other things said as well and if you did it, you know what they were.

That attack you made on my daughter really hurt her to the point of tears. She really did not know where you going with as she is 9 and does not have any concept of what you meant. Once she started to almost figure it out, she was hurt that somebody on VMK would attack her for being virtually affectionate with her mom. But even if I wasn't her mom, it would make no difference.

So again, if this was you, please be careful what you say and what you do in VMK. People have feelings on the game; it is real people who sit behind the computer....and many of them are little kids.

Vmk tells us to ignore, but its hard to ignore ignorance.

I just don't understand why people act like this. I have a boy character(long story) but I do not hide the fact that I am slinkymans mother. I have gone up to him many many times and said hugs and have been lucky that no one ever made a strange comment. I do not understand what is wrong in saying this is my boy or my girl. Disney should be proud and thrilled that this is a family game. That they have found something that can be shared across the boards despite age. There are not a lot of things that parents and kids like and it is refreshing to have something like VMK to spend time with my son. It keeps the communications open with a teenager.

This player should be ashamed of themselves scaring a kid like that. We must all remember there is no real way to know the age of some we are talking to and we should treat them with respect.

my goodness, someone had said the same thing in the fantasyland courtyard! I was discusted and said no and reported them but vmk didnt do anything about it. this makes me mad...

You are all right, it is disgusting. It would not matter if it were two adults or a mother and child, if you don't like something or don't agree with it, you just smile and walk on by. But to judge people behind an avatar..... ....and hurt children's feelings.

This is quite unfortunate. Please PM me the title of the Player that said this to your daughter? If this person is on my friends list, I'd like to delete him or her immediately.

Maybe you can turn this into a positive thing? Speak to your daughter about people that aren't like "most" of us?... discuss with her your family's value system, and ask her what she thinks.

Also, I don't think that VMK would have issues with your daughter having said that you are "family". In my opinion, that should be less of a "bannable" offense than the hate-speak the other Player gave your daughter.

It's too bad how this type of prejudice is still so prevalent in our society... even our online warm-fuzzy Disney society, apparently.

Gosh so sorry for your little girl. Sad to say I see a lot of that "gray" thing especially on Main Street. I was on Frontierland Dock all night last evening with a great group of people. Amazingly they put up with my silly fishing and singing "Sitting on the Dock of the Bay" all night! It could be worse though, I was recently approached by a player who says "you are ugly!" I said " that is not nice to say" he says " I want free rare" I say " right you be mean to me and I should gift you free?" he says "go to he.all!" I swear I almost fell out of my chair! In fact I was so shocked I was slow to hit the report button and he was gone!! Good to see you stay close by your daughter on VMK, sadly it is not always a safe environment for childen.

I am so sorry to hear that. It so infuriates me when people do that, clearly they have some insecurities that they need to demonstrate on a Disney Game.

This is why when my girls play, mom plays close to them. But, I do have to admit people dont want to deal with the rath of mom.

Awww I'm so sorry to hear about this. Its amazing how much rude/mean behavior is in a Disney game and doesn't get taken care of as it should. You're poor daughter...lots of hugs to her. I keep saying that the mods for that game had let things go for way to long and its to late to control it all when it keep spreading like it does. I wish it wasn't that way though. And really I don't see why it would be so bad for her to say you are her mom since we have seen so much of that "play" mom/dad stuff and still do. And no matter what it is just soooooooooooo very wrong for that kind of talk. No excuse ever for it.

To tell you the truth, I had to think for a minute until I realized what "gray" means! I am sorry. I actually saw some of that same dictionary dancing. I also had a similar experience with the report button. I just canot believe how ugly people can be just because they are not face-to-face, but behind a PC.

Yes, it does need to be stopped. I do not see VMK doing anything to put a stop to these types of issues, which is really on the brink of harassment. I really think it is because VMKs days are numbered, but that is another thread.

It is shocking to see that type of stuff. Maybe since I would never say it I am being too sensitive, but I do not think so.
