If they only sell a certain number of tix per night for the MVMCP, why have I read that Friday night is not a good nite to go? I know the less people the better, but I would think even at maximum, it is better then a regular day with the average crowd.

I've been wondering the same thing. Also, how many tickets do they sell per night of MVMCP? I heard they only allow in 1/4 of the people that would be there on a normal day, is that correct?

I have done MVMCP on a weekend once. It was more crowded than during the day. This was during the first week of Dec a few years ago. The weekend MVMCP seems to sell out. The weekday ones do not. I usually go the first week of Dec. Later in the month ir is more crowded at WDW.

I am not sure how many tickets they sell, but Fridays usually sell out. That was the case on our December trip last year. So, if the night sells out, there is a maximum number of people there, meaning it would be the most crowded it could get. Other nights the party is not sold out, which means less people and less lines. We went last year on Sunday 12/8. We just walked onto all the rides or had very minimal wait times. DD was thrilled that Dumbo had practically no line (can you imagine how many times we rode that and Aladdin?:) ).

The party is a lot of fun. We loved the parade and the special shows that they had. Of course snow on Main St is so pretty.

There have been years when every MVMCP night sold out. In that case, it didn't matter at all which night you chose. As mentioned, Fridays tend to sell out sooner than any of the other days. Those of us who have a choice are just betting that the night we choose will not sell out and thus will be less crowded.

FWIW, IMHO, people make too much of "crowds." To us the best part of the party is the shows, the fireworks and the Christmas parade. The crowds just add to the festive atmosphere. We go expecting it to be crowded and if it isn't, then that's just a bonus.

Enjoy!

Is the number I've seen most often for max tickets sold for each MVMCP.You can see and do alot even if MVMCP is sold out. We've enjoyed MVMCP'S sold out or not.The live shows, parade and special fireworks with all the hoilday decorations and snow on Main Street makes it worth the cost of ticket for us throw in a few attractions we like to do and it's one great evening.:wave2: :goodvibes :wizard:

Many, many, many locals do MNSSHP and since it goes until midnight and then there is the drive home. You will see heavier traffic on Friday night. "Locals" come from Sarasota, Tampa, Cocoa, Daytona. Not just Orlando.

Friday is the first night to sell out right after Halloween night. at least in past years.

Then as the show nights approach, the other nights sell out as well.

I can't say why you should or shouldn't pick a Friday night. But I would like to suggest that when you are going if there are 2 or more parties in your time period do not chose the last party during your stay. In December we attended the Christmas party. The night we did it rained so hard. There was so much rain that there was current of water rushing across the ground. I have been at Disney in rain before but never like this. We were soaked to the bone. They couldn't run either parade or fireworks so word got out that if you went to City Hall they might give you tickets for another night. I don't think they make that official. I think the CM's mention it here and there if they hear people complain. I went to City Hall with all 3 tickets and was able to get tickets for another night. Those who couldnt attend another night because they were leaving or because Friday night was sold out were given an address to write for a possible refund. Again they were not saying the refund was a given but was indicating that they would be refunded.

We are leaving in 8 days and are doing the party on the 14th. We have the 16th as a back up :)
